And we are very happy with how we did! We did pretty well and even placed in a few categories. We are very pleased with this since this was our first LD and all. To everyone else who enetered, great job! The games that placed were amazing and many of the games that we played were great too, even though some of them didn’t place. We regret that we were unable to play all of the games, but we’re sure that they were great too!
Overall, we had a blast and look forward to the next LD that we are able to take part in. Hopefully, we’ll see everyone in April!
So there are only 4 days left to rate. We’ve been trying to rate whenver we get the time, and so far we’ve rated 26% of the games out there. But there are still more! We’re going to keep trying to rate more and more games out there!

Well, we finished! It was a blast. Don’t have a whole lot of time at the moment, but we will def have time lapse vidoes up soon.

Just a quick update. We’ve decided how we want to finish the game and should be able to reach our goal. Well, let’s hope we do anyways because we still have to add sound! Ah! At any rate. I know I haven’t given any screenshots of our game yet, so here is a tiny one of some debug stuff.
We just filled, I mean literally filled, our game full of NPCs that start shuffling every time they move.
..so here we are! Things are looking up! We got stuff movin, and attacking, and dying, and burning, and exploding, and running, and gettin’ scared, and even freaking out at times. It’s great stuff I tell ya. It’s currently 6:35am here. We’ve been working since about 3pm yesterday. That’s a little over 16 hours straight. So we’ve made a lot of progress, but there’s just as much, if not more, that needs to be done before Monday. So, I’m back to work but please, let me leave you with some pictures!

Time for another update! We’re waiting until 8pm here so that we can order pizza using a coupon that I have. We’re starving!
Oh, right. Games.
Things are going pretty well. I’ve been working on sprites all day while my teammate has been fixing some bugs and trying to make the game playable. He’s currently working on dialog things and conversations and pseudo-cutscenes, etc. We’re hoping to get everything done by tomorrow night. Even though we’re entering the Jam, we won’t have the full three days because my teammate works on Monday until 5pm and the Jam ends at 8pm. So we’ll be hopefully polishing off stuff by then.

I don’t like milk in my cereal.
Anyways.. It’s day two of the Jam. My teammate went home around 8am (12 hours after the Jam started) and that’s when I went to sleep. We both slept until about 1pm, which is actually an hour later than what we wanted. But oh well. We still have a ton of stuff to get finished, but allow me to fill you in on what’s been done so far:
- Have our levels looking pretty decent. Got some fancy 2.5D stuff goin’ on.
- We know what all characters are gonna be in the game, I’ve just gotta get ‘em done. Which I have one almost completely done. Animations take too long imo.
- Movement is down. Just gotta work on attacking and jumping. As well as making enemies.
I think there’s more that we did, I just can’t remember because I just woke up. SWEET. My teammate just called and is on his way brining me McDonalds! Yataa! Well, buy for now folks! I’ll post some screens here soon enough!
Got about 5 to 6 hours of sleep. Now for showering and then straight back to work. Will post screens later today.
Ludum Dare started at 8pm in my time, and it is now 6:10am. We’ve been working pretty diligently at this and have gotten a lot accomplished. We have our overall game idea fleshed out along with somewhat of a story. We have most of our gameplay figured out as well. It just comes down to getting it done in time. We’ve made excellent progress thus far though. I, for one, am getting a little better with Graphics Gale (even though I still suck). I’m horrible at pixel art, but I’m working on it. Here are some more screen shots of us working tonight:
We’ll be going to bed soon. Gonna get some sleep to refuel our batteries. But, for now, we still work.
Things are goin’ pretty well for the two of us right now.
We took the first hour or so to blast out some ideas and finally decide on one.
We’re both Chronolapsing and I’m also livestreaming one of my monitors. It’s pretty fun so far. We’ve got a lot of the game planned out already. I’ve just got to design everything while he… codes. Duh, right? Well, just wanted to say that we’re still goin’ strong and that we’ve only procrastinated once! …okay, twice. But we’re still workin! Yataa!
