First Ludum Dare, and I enjoyed  it!

Now it’s time to catch some sleep.

here’s a final screenshot:

10 hours left and my progress so far

I can’t stand to see anymore code for the moment so I thought I’d post an update.

The story is something like: “you woke up in the middle of a street, in a (not so) deserted city… ZOMG!! ZOMBIES!!”

Your goal is to survive as long as possible.

features so far:

  • day/night cycle.
  • shotgun, M4 & extra ammo
  • ugly level design
  • obstacles which can be picked up & dropped everywhere to block the zombies
lacks so far:
  • sound
  • collision detection (so obstacles are pretty useless right now, and you can’t die)
  • dead zombies
  • blood
  • welcome screen
  • gameover screen
screens:

Good morning, ready to start!

Well, I’m ready to get started. Quite happy the theme is not kittens, but I will accept the challenge to put some kittens in my game.

The game i’ll be building will contain:

  • zombies
  • top-down
  • zombies
  • day/night cycles
  • zombies

Framework update

I just thought I might want to use the JInput library to support gamepads for controls.

If time is on my side…

And if it fits the theme…

I’m in!

First Ludum Dare and excited to get started!

Weapons of choice:
- Java (been 5 years since last time I used java but I like the challenge). No special libraries as I wouldn’t know any.
- iPad with SunVox, Sprite Something, and SketchBook for resources

Good luck to all!
