This is my second ludum dare. Last time I didn’t finish because I chose a design that was far too ambitious. I also ran into issues trying to distro XNA builds to playtesters throughout the process. I ended up giving up on Sunday morning. This time I am choosing tools with a little more portability:
Language: Java/Slick/LWJGL
Graphics: Photoshop
Sound: SFXR
Ideas: Whiteboard
Fuel: Coffee and Espresso. Don’t make the mistake I did last time and try energy drinks. It caused me to crash hard both days!

Question about content
I see in the rules that all content must be generated within the contest timeline, but I am also seeing past projects and current posts stating that they have content that will be used for the contest? What is the official on this? and by content, I mean art and music.

This is my first Ludum Dare, and I am incredibly excited. I have the support of my wife to basically expend my weekend taking part in this awesome adventure. I have a ton of respect for those who have gone before me and I cannot wait to get started.
I will be using the following:
MonoDevelop
MonoGame (xplatform goodness)
Photoshop (Yes, legally obtained)
Anvil Studio (Open source VST for audio)
Full Throttle Berry, Coffee
Tumblr (I intend to try to live blog the whole thing)
Twitter (To shout out my live blog links)
BitBucket for source control and issue tracking (I doubt i’ll have time for issue tracking)
