Thanks to the 12 hours spare I could finished my game properly(almost). You can check my entry HERE. I’ve added sounds and background sounds(the clock..) and added some courses to the map. Now it looks fine, but now it’s for windows users only.. this was my second game in c++ so I have no idea how to port it to linux and to mac, the game is in allegro so it suppose to be possible. Can anyone explain how I port it to other platforms? I’ve added a source to the entry so maybe someone can do it for me please? thanks. and some photos:

Another c++ help

Posted by
Friday, August 5th, 2011 12:47 pm

So I’ve finally successfully installed VS 2010 express and I’m ready to practice some c++. So this time I wanted to ask for a recommendation from people that are familiar with c++ and graphics libraries like allegro, openGL, directX…
So my question is: What graphic library should I use for a 2D game? What is better and why? etc.

c++ help!!

Hello!
I wanted to ask people that are developing games in c++ for a little help.
I’m familiar with the c++ language and studied it once, and I want to write a game in c++ in this ludum dare.
I’ve tried to install visual studio 2010 and 2008 but they both keep failing (due to some odd setup memory leak) and also I’ve tried to install eclipse++ but I had a problem with the libraries.
So can someone please give me a good c++ IDE that he is familiar with, or maybe someone familiar with my problems and can help.
Many thanks for help.

I’m out. :(

So here is what I got so far.

See you next ludum dare!
And good luck too everyone who is still making their games, some of them just awesome!

Right now, there is not much stuff I’ve done, but here is what I have so far: http://www.planetnana.co.il/vladp/ld20.html(Push the Start button). The game is still kinda missing the point of the theme, but we’ll see. PLEASE if you have anything to tell about the game, leave a comment, even if you hate it write it plz, thanks.

It’s time for an other ludum dare! I really enjoyed the other two ludum dare I participated in, and now I’m looking forward for the next one and hope it’s will be even better. Due to many school dead lines I’ve decided to make a shorter entry of about 9 hours only, it’s will be another challenge for me.

So my tools are:

  • Java – eclipse, I will use a simple java 2d graphics
  • sfxr – for sound
  • Paint and GIMP

Good luck to everyone!!

Finally it’s weekend and i can sit down and write a game! I’m gonna make a game I called “Tetris is now a fishing game”. I’ve changed the rules that I chosen before so here is my new rules:

Theme: Tetris is now a fishing game
3 Limitations: Game must end in 60 seconds +
All audio must be your own voice + Framerate cap at 5fps
2 Rules: All variable, class, function etc names must be palindromes +
Game must be code complete in the first 3 hours, if not, must start over. NO CODING AFTER THAT.

Hope to finish it in 3 hours.

Gonna start soon!

It’s already almost 4 days since miniLD #24 started, and I didn’t started yet but I’ve already got an idea and gonna start soon.

So here is my rules and limitation:
Theme: Fishing
4 Limitations: 2 colours + Game must end in 60 seconds +
All audio must be your own voice + Framerate cap at 5fps
3 Rules: All variable, class, function etc names must be palindromes +
Use a tool/language you have never used before + Game must be code complete in the first 3 hours, if not, must start over. NO CODING AFTER THAT.

I think I’m gonna make a simple short game, about fishing and mixing stuff. I still haven’t choose the tool/language I’m gonna use, probably Flash or Unity.

Just a game I made
