My MiniLD21 Game + October Challenge Entry Plans
Just wanted to share my late Mini LD 21 game with everyone:
Klaustrum is a game about the fear of having no escape and being closed in. GreaseMonkey was kind enough to whipped the music in less than an hour and DirkRugged helped with the levels.
We are planning to flesh out lot more levels, tweak the gameplay, etc. and use it as our entry for PoV’s October Challenge. Please have a run at it and let us know what you think: http://legrudgerugged.com/klaustrum/
Done and Done!
So I managed to wrap my JAM entry! My good friend @DirkRugged helped with the artwork and @IamGreaser composed the music this afternoon. Hope you like it!
EnemyWars: progress
So far so good on my first LD! The concept for my game is below:
ENEMYWARS – OUTLINE
- Enemies charge towards player base from right to left
- enemies attack with ranged weapons and smash once close enough
- The player must use a set of defenses to use enemies as weapons or turn them against each other
- defenses are statically placed on the ground (which to use depends on mana requirements and enemy placement)
- defenses included:
- catapult = launches enemies in the air and uses them as bombs
- ZOMBIEfier = turns enemies into zombies… you get the rest
- bomb trap = attaches bombs to enemies, these run back to base and explode their comrades
- MAY ALSO: allow for mouse to pick up enemies and drop from a distance
- player triggers defenses by pressing keys OR combination of keys
- defenses only work when enough mana is available
- mana is gained by killing enemies OR by turning enemies against each other OR based on how many enemies your turned enemies kill
- each defense has a different mana requirement
- players never win. Sooner or later they will be overtaken. Goal is to last as long as possible!
Anyways – I’m happy with my temporary environment and moving nicely into enemy logic. See below:
