Name of the game: ‘lotsoflots’

Description: ‘lots and lots of autonomous agents try to bury you alive and you got to Descend/Demolish/Destroy/Detonate/Dig/Dirt/Drill/Dynamite’ your way free but they’re being directed by an advanced learning algorithm so you can not.’

Definition of done: ‘When you can complete the game by escaping the onslaught of many projectiles and its a bit of a challenge.’

Game factory I’m joining my mates and spending the weekend answering the call of the “Ludum Dare”.

I know C++ and I need to know Ogre 3D(don’t know) so I’ll use those two. Had a lecture on genetic algorithms recently so I’ll likely try one for the dare if it fits.

If I get something submitted then I’ll be happy. I will be doing tutorials on Ogre and reading the slides on machine learning and genetic algorithms so I wont get much done but hopefully something. If not then at least it will be a learning experience.

I’m also using as per suggestion sfxr which just seems priceless and audiere if  it integrates okay with Ogre. Cause I’m a student I get to use MSVS2010. Err and I’m going to try out that crono thing for a time lapse video.

It’s likely that my graphics will be procedural and if not I might use paint.net I guess. I doubt I will produce anything beyond a windows version. Yeah this is my first Ludum however I do have experience making 2D games, this might be my first 3D if I stick to my plans.

Good Luck everyone! and don’t overdo it!
