Spielmeister is going to host a real world gathering for ludum dare 24.

Date: Saturday, August 25th 9:00 AM till Sunday  10:00 PM (CEST)

Venue: Spielmeister HQ, Adelungstr. 30a, 64283 Darmstadt / Germany

There will be free beer, drinks and snacks

We’ll  provide you with external monitors (no need to bring your own!). There will be also a place to sleep/rest if you bring your own sleeping bag/mat.

Wow! What a weekend this has been! It all started with the simple question: Whaaaat, no local gathering in Germany? Ok, let’s do one at the Spielmeister office… WITH FREE BEER.

7 guys managed to join our event. Some of them failed to finish their game due to real life restrictions Great scenes happened at the local gathering, I remember seeing @emveyh in a  sleeping bag refactoring his collision detection code and the moment we realized @BrackCurly’s game runs in the favicon of a browser tab!  We saw euphoric @martensms totally freaking out hacking a complex immune system RTS game and discussing the realism of the game with a bio-technician who came around in the night to grab a free beer. Another epic action was done by Johannes from @blacksmithgames who decided that it might be better to go to the club now and came back totally drunk in the middle of the night and tried to convince everybody to party. This must have been the moment when the idea to Jabu’s “TOTÒ DI MAMMA GOES TO THE CLUB” game was born.
