This will be my second submission. I used XNA last time, but I want to use Java this time around to make sure the linux/mac/freebsd/etc people can play my game. Good luck to everyone and have fun!

It’s playable, but there’s not a lot to do. You can drink, eat, and fish at this point. I’m working on sounds and some form of hunting for food. I also want to add some trees and some way to make shelter, but not sure if I’ll get that far. I also want to add some kind of radio that you can try to fix and a signal fire. There’s no way to win at this point either you just wander around until you die… not very cheery.

I’ve got my tile engine up, mouse support is good. I’m doing a pretty simple game where you’re just surviving on an island after a some accident on your yacht or private jet or whatever (I think I’m going to let you pick which type of crash you survived, and that would control the items you start out with). You have to eat, drink, build shelter, etc. or you die. The point is to survive long enough to get rescued. The terrain will be generated at random, but I have to create a better algorithm than what I have now. I’m in the states so I’m off to score some sleep (finally).

Music for yer game

Hi LD community, I’m shady and this will be my first game comp (so be gentle). I wanted to see if I could get some suggestions from the game makers out there about their favorite music making application/technique. I hope you don’t think that’s like aiding the enemy.

Good luck to everyone!
