I really enjoyed making the game.  This was my second ludum dare and I think it went a bit smother.

I had fun using jmonkey here is some of my PM notes

Good:
The blender importer is freaking awesome. I was able to model and get the models into the game with ease once I figured out the gotcha
Enjoyed using LMMS for music even though I did not create much its still fun.
I used the Blender UV exporter for all of my textures so i save some time doing that. Also it gave it a nice lonely feeling.

Bad:
I still dont know how to use Nifty. lots of things I wanted to do I could not figure out. Maybe someone could make a video tutorial on some nifty basics.
I didnt get a chance to do any animation.
I had in mine a whole second level for the game but ran out of time.

To the Ludum dare peeps : Thanks for having this website :)

I got the gun model attached.  Not sure why I had to point it toward the negative Y axis in blender. Learning as I go.

I just started using LMMS so far so good. This is just a test of a little background music.

Here is a game I have been working on for the last year.  It has some problems on windows with the menu titles.

This Video Explains it

Its open source and I’m still not sure how I want the game play to work.

If you want to help me succeed in the October Challenge you can donate here

Here is a more complicated creation

Thanks,

Greg

I have 200 downloads but no one commented on my game. Is it really bad or is something wrong with the comments:)

For the next LD48 should I do web?

Since this was my first LD48 I used what I knew. Java and Jmonkey.

What is peoples opinion of platforms to use?

Seems like the web based games are a lot easier for people to access. Maybe next time I should do HTML5?

I had lots of fun. Thanks Ludum Dare people for working so hard getting server fixed.

Now that I have gotten some sleep :) I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. This was my first LD48 and it was fun.

I learned a lot in the last two days.  The hardest part for me was not adding more features.  I had to take out some “Fun” elements of my game but I wanted something that worked above all.

One other note my submission has a WINDOWS Link but the link should work on Linux, Windows and Mac since its java.

Good:

Jmonkey was easy to use.

Hydrogen Drum Machine was cool.

Gimp rocked.

Blender 2.5X was awesome

Bad:

Loading Images in Jmonkey have a weird Flip By default. So I had to make my Letters Backwards.

Blender exporter to Ogre xml puts a capital “F” on False so the xml parser cries.
