Dream Explorer: Post Mortem
This was my first LD, and I had a great time! : ) Thanks to everyone organizing this, being in #ludumdare, and just working hard to churn out awesome games. THANK YOU!
There’s definitely something to be said for reflecting on the good and the bad, though. Let’s start with…
All done!
After many many hours of work, I finally polished out my game: with all of its 45 seconds of gameplay. ; ) I almost gave up at like noon on Saturday, and I’m very glad I didn’t.
Now I’m proud of myself and very, very hungry. Good luck to everyone! : )

I made some arts!
Holy crap does art make a huge difference. This is the same map and 99% same engine as the image before, just with more sexy.

Now I just need the game to, y’know, do something…
Platformers are a pain.
After countless hours fighting with collisions and platformer stuff, I finally have something I am willing to go with. Collisions be damned.
This is probably nothing like the final game will look like, but hey, the little green guy is pretty cute.

Hey guys, I’m scellers, and this is my first LD. I’m extremely excited – just spent about half and hour with a friend and I think I have a solid idea that I’m genuinely inspired by. Dunno how long I should sit around and think about it, and when I should just sit down and start coding. I’m also a little scared that this is going to need a lot of art. Oh well.
I’ll be working in Pygame, since that’s what I’m comfortable with, and creating art in either or both Corel Painter and Photoshop.
