Getting ready for Ludum Dare 22!
I’m excited to participate in Ludum Dare 22!
This will be the first time I participate in #LD48. Hopefully, I will create a game which is fun for people to play, in only 48 hours. I’m planning on creating a web based game, and will develop it using HTML5 technologies, such as HTML5 Canvas, WebSockets and perhaps WebGL. After the competition, I’m planning on releasing the game as open source on Github, and if people enjoy the game, then I’ll continue developing it there. During the competition, I would really appreciate some help with testing or feedback of the work in progress. Perhaps I should stream the whole 48 hours live on justin.tv like @Notch. Anyway, this will be a lot of fun!
These are the development tools and laguagues that I’m planning to use:
- Javascript in the browser, and Python on the server.
- I’ll be hosting the game online on an Amazon EC2 instance.
- Graphics will be created using Gimp and Blender.
- HTML5 Canvas
- Three.js
- jQuery
- Box2D
- WebSockets using Socket.IO.
