This time, I decided to start with the title screen! No, the title isn’t final. :p
Well I’ve decided to only use up to three colors per graphic, so this is what the game will look like all the way through. I’ll make it look better tomorrow, hopefully.

Somehow I got an idea. Let this MS Paint show you:

I expected some other theme to win, but “enemies as weapons” works out quite well.
So I’ve got two ideas:
- Super Mario Bros 2 ripoff. Not gonna happen.
- A game where you start with no form of attack, and have to defeat enemies to get weapons (they’re the only source of them in the game.).
You can already tell I’m stuck.

Rescue the Stranded!
Oh man, here it is! No achievements, sadly.
It’s a MENU!

The triangle is the cursor. Hard mode, insanity mode, instructions, and achievements don’t exist yet. Those are next.
Random Progress
I added that floating island enemy from my last post into the game. It drops mines that blow up people on islands (onos) and the boat. You lose all the people you’re carrying and lose 50 points when you get hit. Three hits, and you’re dead.

If you can’t tell, the player can now bring the people to land! The boat can only hold twenty people (a lot for such a small boat!). You get 20 points for rescuing people from an island, and 50 for bringing them to land.
Rescue them stranded people!

There is now a score counter, a rescued people counter, and well, people! They’re stranded on islands, so you have to rescue them and bring them to land. Still need to work on the getting people to land thing, and change how the islands work so the people disappear when you rescue them other than the whole island disappearing. Maybe a max capacity of people on your boat too.
Still no clouds. It’s disappointing, I know.

Welp, got my game generating islands rather than having islands wrap around the screen.

WHOA!!! Something went wrong! It’s generating an island every frame, and in the sky!
Well now that’s fixed, I think I’m done for today.

“I’m On A Boat” reference here.

So yeah, islands now have three different shapes as promised, and now there’s a BOAT!!! that you can control vertically. No clouds, though. D:

So yeah, got some WACKY GRADIENTS and some islands which look identical! (and scroll, but you can’t tell from the screenshot) Next is different shapes of islands, and possibly clouds.
