This is what happens when you don’t add delays in your generators. (If you can’t tell, there’s no interaction with asteroids and the player yet. :p)

Did you know that I love placeholder graphics? I also like placing them in a random spot in the game as an easter egg.
So anyways:

Enemies that can shoot bullets (the red x things), health display, score display (top left corner), and some gold circles which give a random amount of points from 1-13.

Rocket, which moves, and shoots. It’s amazing.
Stars scroll at different speeds. Pretty neat effect.

Now I’m out of ideas. :|

Doesn't really make much difference.
Except you can't see much in Hard mode.

Difficulty levels. They even have descriptions. The second shot is hard mode. Doesn’t make much of a difference, just you can’t see very far. Of course none of you will play on Easy Mode, right?

You can also see I resized the window. No need for 640×480 if you can barely see anything around you.

I can hold very hot objects!

Good morning.

Light Bulb

My item, it's been nulled!

If it isn’t obvious, you can now pick up items. The light bulb lights up the area around you. Pretty useless, but still fun. 30 seconds after picking it up, the light bulb will burn out.

Yes, I did take those screenshots at different times, if you noticed the coin count.

You can’t really see anything in this screenshot.

You can barely see anything.

The game looks boring in the screenshot because of all the darkness, so I’ll explain:
-The player sprite minds its own business rather than rotate towards the cursor now.
-If it’s not obvious: You must shine a flashlight to find where the cave walls are.
-The sparkles (that are animated, but you can’t see that here) indicate where the coins are. Of course getting to them isn’t as easy as spotting them.
-The flashlight graphic you see here is the cursor, not an item you can pick up.

I wanted flashlights to win, but Caverns works too. I’ll still be able to pull off what I wanted to.

Of course, an hour and 30 minutes into the competition, I have a buggy engine.

FINAL – The Hotel Advance

How is this related to Advancing Wall of Doom? Well, the player has to get to the ladder of the level to advance higher up. The ‘doom’ would be the cans, lasers, and the bottomful pits. The part after you get into the chimney are just ‘final’ levels that have no relation to the theme.

I’m back from dinner, and it seems NONE OF THE WEBSITES I OPENED ARE LOADED! D: And my service provider says “Right click the connection and click repair”, even though I even stated I tried that. :( Apparently Ludum Dare is the only place that actually loads. So nothing is gonna happen until this is fixed.

At least my dinner was awesome. I near the end of today, as stuff happen.

I’m currently working on the levels, and trying to make the game harder as you progress up the building. I find making Fancy Footwork be even fancier is hard.

This is also the first screenshot to have cracks in the ledges. They of course, break on touch.
