Space Islands!
So, alright, this is it for day #1 – its “space islands” aka asteroids something. Bascially this is going to be a RTS in which the player has to harverst ressources, build stuff and defend against some kind of aliens. I really dont know yet – the art is mostly temporary right now, except for the abstract icons, this is the style I really want to go for.
The green polygon is some kind of indicator for ressources, the blue icon is a mine/harvester, the red thingy is a factory, and the box is a storage
First things first.
Soo. Breakfast. I kinda feel sick after that party yesterday, so its only toast.
Good thing with waking up a few hours after the theme announcement: There is already some insperation! Too bad its caverns, I had NO idea for this one…
Guess I am in anyways.
I will be using Gosu and C++, and want to experiment with some opengl shaders, if I ever come this far, that is. Sound will be mainly sfxr, and no music I guess.
Oh! I need an avater… Ohwell! Time to lurk in the irc channel and steal some ideas
Escape from LHC
Alright, I am done. Just a little “standard” AWOD. Too tired to write a description. I like to add I still don’t like the theme :’(
Well, basically:
You are a scientist at CERN, working on the LHC – LHC malfunctions, a blackhole is generated and you have to flee from the CERN … to the super-secret anti-blackhole-buffer-device-powered super-bunker (which is painted in antimatter-paint, so thats a plus also!)….. :/
Windows-Binary and sourcecode: Here
WSAD or Arrow-Keys to move, SPACE to activate stuff.
Features:
- AWOD is consuming time and tiles, distorting them and radiating you.
- Weird mapsystem based on bitmaps :S
- Oh, and based on textfiles with a fucked up format for triggers
Things left out: Well, the highway-chase, a lot of gameplay, leveleditor for the player, good graphics, sounds, music.
Thanks to all the ppl in #gosu, it was a real blast, even tho my entry sucks! Maybe we manage to meet for the next ld!
Escape from the LHC!
Alright, alright. After 12 hours in I finaly have an idea I like.
You are a scientist at CERN, working on the LHC – LHC malfunctions, a blackhole is generated and you have to flee from the CERN (act 1), run to the parking space and steal a car (act 2) and finaly drive over the highway to the super-secret anti-blackhole-buffer-device-powered super-bunker….. :/
I am in too!
After last time which has been a good experience for me, I decided to enter again! I made the 4th place in “Theme”, and I am very proud of that. It was my first ludum dare and my first playable (and winnable!) game ever!
Will use C++ and Gosu like the last time, not screwing around with OpenGL. Well… maybe I will try to implement some shaders if I find the time for that…
Just hoping for a good theme now :S
Crazy taxi puzzling game final 1.1…
Here is a little bugfix on the game – I did not intend to upload it at first, but here it is anyways, please dont vote based on this.
Fixed windows binary and updated source. you can click now
It updates the buggy taxi pathfinding, it now should not go crazy about deadends after curved roads. have fun with it
Crazy taxi puzzling game final.
In this action puzzler you have to get your taxis from their start points to their goals (tinted in the same color, also the taxis have a tinted arrow on top of them).
To do this, you have to rotate the tiles.
More in the readme.txt…
the game and sourcecode. please dont click
Also, here is a screenshot from the first prototype:
End of day2…. almost.
I have now about one hour left to fix the bugs left, then I have to call it a day. There were a few things that did not go as planned, but that has to wait till tomorrow, for now, here is my latest screenshot:
Thats it then: A halfway-done action-puzzler with half of the grapics not done, an ugly bug in its pathfinder and only 5 levels. Guess the only thing I do now is get a few more levels and thats it for this time, my first ld48 ever.
taxi-puzzeling-action-fun-game.
So, its my first ludum dare ever! In front I was not quite sure if I should participate or not, and with the theme I hesitated even more. Guess I am in at last.
Started coding with OpenGL with no real idea in my head, but got a easy-to-make one in between. Scrapped a few hours of opengl-code because GL_SELECTION was giving me a headache – switched to gosu instead and till now I havent looked back!
My idea is a little puzzle game – you have to make a way for taxis that want to go from A to B, clicking on a tile rotates it. Taxis must not crash into each other, but the drivers are smart enough to do a 180 if they hit a dead end. No gameplay implemented, yet, but here is a early screen:
