So I look at my game when the results come back, and see results I was expecting. This game was a test, so I am not suprised that it got mostly 2 and 3 overalls. But what’s this? columns of 1′s? My game surely wasn’t that horrible! Even if they didn’t like the humor or the graphics etc, I know I did some community work. What were they expecting, an essay?

Well after mild frustration but a little bit of self pity, I went on and looked at other games I found to be quite polished. What? More columns of ones? Are these people crazy?

I guess these people don’t have enough time to play or something, even then they shouldn’t be voting but instead leaving it all alone.

Yay! I finally coded something that isn’t completely broken!

of course this is a dual edged sword because I’m having so much fun playing League of Legends with no lag that I completely forgot about LD until now. Now I have to work doublepaced.

cost about 900 dollars CA. I am happy with it, downside is that I’ll spend all day screwing around now and not doing my game making.
I’ll do it tonight.

sadly, the title has nothing to do with my game.
I’m getting a new computer, no idea what I’m looking for. When I get it I’m going to have to go through a good hour of transferring over important files and hooking it up. This could set my LD back  by a while.

So far I have a story and some music. Too bad some of the music loops badly thanks to one misplaced note. But oh well, that will do.

As for gameplay? Still none. Might work on it tomorrow but I’m getting a new computer so I might be playing magicka all day :X

so I couldn’t really think of how to start my game off. At first I was thinking of making some pretentious mess, so I drew up everything in monochrome and had a few depressed looking characters. Then I stated to myself “To hell with that! I’m going to smash in as many cliches as possible!” and this story was the result.

Yes this is the final draft of the first part of the story.

You play as a man named Boboil, in the epic quest of going through countless rats and goblins to restore the generator to make everyone not horribly drawn.

As for the gameplay… Well I don’t have any yet. But I do have a title screen and some music!

Booting up my brain with Pirogi Pizza. It’s 10 slices of drooling goodness jam packed with sour cream, bacon, green onions, ham, and potatoes and 3 cheeses. Call me an ambulance!

as you probably have known, (or lack thereof) I have never sucessfully made a game in LD.

BUT TODAY IT SHALL HAPPEN
My goal for this LD is to get a working game going- no matter how broken it is. I will attempt to fix and iron bugs but no promises. Of course this means a lot of drag-and-dropping will occur, and I have never had a chance to experience game maker to the full extent of it’s capabilities (not much), only Flash.

This will be interesting.

Well, I’ve been thinking about joining Ludum Dare for a while now, but because of my almost terrible game creation skills, i’ve resisted for a while.
