    “Drill It!” Updated [Mouse Controls]

In my original build the controls were fairly unintuitive and hard to get used to. I have since updated the build to use mouse controls for gun aiming and firing (firing may still be triggered using the keyboard as well).

    The new control scheme is:

    A/Left – move counter-clockwise
    D/Right  - move clockwise
    Mouse Move – gun aiming
    Left Click – fire gun
    Right Click – drop charge
    C – drill

The new builds may be downloaded from the following locations:

“As a representative of Drill It!: Demolition Company I regret to inform you that your planet is scheduled for demolition. A trained technician will be sent to your stratosphere to ensure the destruction occurs in a safe and timely manner. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

You control a planetary demolition vehicle that is tasked with demolishing planets to make way for an inter-galactic bypass. Use your drill to bore weak points while fending off pesky inhabitants with your space-laser and timed charges.

Your vehicle is well-armoured but your drill requires extreme stability. Any jostles or impacts will cause a temporary system malfunction.

    Good luck, and happy drilling!

    CONTROLS
Left / Right arrows: move counter-clockwise / clockwise
Down / Up arrows: rotate gun counter-clockwise / clockwise
    Z: fire space-laser
X: drop timed charge (max 4 at once)
C: hold when over a weak-point to begin drilling

    Tiny Planet Demolition Video!

    Hey all,

Here’s a new video with where I was at a few hours ago. I’ll keep posting about it throughout the night but it’s starting to actually feel fun!

(The bar at the bottom of the screen isn’t supposed to flash, fyi).

The goal is to destroy the weak-points of the planet within the time limit. If an enemy damages you, you’ll enter a stunned state that prevents movement and retracts the drill. Any and all feedback is welcome!

    Tiny Planet … Destroyed!

You play an alien demolition crew tasked with blowing apart innocent planets using your space drill to make way for intergalactic highway bypasses. Unluckily for you, the inhabitants aren’t going down without a fight and will do whatever they can to thwart the drilling process. Each planet must be completely drilled in multiple weak points before time runs out and/or you run out of health.

Here’s what I’ve got so far!

So this is my very first Ludum Dare, but most definitely not my first jam. I can’t wait to see what awesome and amazing creations come out of this weekend. Best of luck to you all and I hope I end up creating something half-way decent. ;)
