<p>I have been using the last few hours to try and implement this :</p>

<p>I never played with lightning in a tiled game, despite having made a lot of tile based games, so I picked this implementation. It seems to work :</p>

<p>The game will be graphical, using XNA, but console is always better when trying to understand an algorithm IMHO. Next post should have it with some gfx tiles in a non-console mode.</p>

<p>So here I am, on my fourth, or maybe fifth, Ludum Dare. I should swear to finish it, but no coders can ever swear to finish a piece of code&#8230;</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been using Boulder Dash&#8217;s tiles, and while replacing them I realized that my tile making talents are only good at 16&#215;16, so the game will have 16&#215;16 tiles doubled (or even tripled) in size. I&#8217;ll call it a &#8220;retro look&#8221;!</p>

<p>I&#8217;m 12 hours late, but to my defense, I was sleeping, and this is the week before Christmas, so I am not sure that my girlfriend will be as understanding as she was at my first Ludum, which was before the house and the kids&#8230;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll post a screen later, here&#8217;s hoping that Blitzmax with a png loader is acceptable for the compo&#8230; (I have kind of a hard time navigating that site, not finding the forums and stuff)</p>
