In IYDRAFTFTYWDSTWYSRFTF (If You Dont Run Away From the Fire Then You Will Die So Thats Why You Should Run From the Fire) you play as a little blockdude who flies around and tries not to die. The fire from the top of the screen constantly is growing until eventually it takes over the entire screen. You may stall your death with items, but it is only a matter of time until you die. Simply fly around and have fun!

Fun Facts

-The game was auctaully going to be a platformer. When I was making it, I accidently made it so that you could hold down the jump button and go into the air forever. I realized that this was auctaully quite fun, so I drew some wings on my guys and put him in the air and let him fly.

-The creator of this game finished nearly the entire game in the first day of the competition, and spent the next day fixing everything, writing the music, and such.
-The creator of this game listened to the following albums while programming:
1. The White Album — The Beatles
2. Sgt. Peppers — The Beatles
3. Rubber Soul — The Beatles

I just made myself a huge omlette which my sister and I shared today for brunch. Here’s a pic:

It’s a 3 egg omlette with bacon and spanich and bell pepper, tomato, and basil, along with 2 pieces of toast and a scone. As you can already probably tell, it was delicious. I’m pretty happy now. Back to work now…

Well, I’ve almost ended my first day of near straight up programming, and am suprised by my results. I’ve auctaully almost gotten a complete game with semi-tolerable graphics and gameplay. I still got plenty more to do, namely fixing a few bugs and putting in the sound, but I am proud of what I’ve made so far. It isn’t nearly as good as some of the other games I’ve read you all are making, but I’m happy what I’ve made so far and look forward to playing everyone else’s creations!

Hey, this will be my first LD entry. It seems like a lot of fun, and I have seen some great attempts at it. I hope to do something as cool as what I’ve seen some of you guys do!

I plan writing in Flash/ActionScript 2.0, and I’m going to use MSPaint to do my sprite drawings and Fireworks for any other drawings I may have.

I’m really excited about this. I look forward to what kind of theme it ends up with. Good luck to everyone!
