The artist and the writer have been working on their concepts. I’ve made some placeholder art, basic platformer controls and some other stuff, here’s what we have so far:

    …yep

    We’re in!

Hey there folks! So i’ve got a joke for you; an englishman, a swede and an american walk into a Ludum Dare. They join a competition and then make a videogame! Okay, that was a horrible non-joke and i’m really sorry for making it, but that doesn’t change the fact that this very thing is taking place!!!

Like the many esteemed and extremely talented game-makers also in the competition, we’re gonna be working around the clock to try and produce the most interesting thing we can for you. This team has already started producing a 3D platformer in the spirit of Psychonauts and Jak & Daxter, and seems to be doing alright so far (check it out HERE). But I guess our entry’s quality will hopefully be able to speak for itself in the coming days! Good luck to everyone else and may the best videogame win.

So basically I made a game at first that had a pretty complicated concept. It didn’t work out, so I started over and made a simpler concept that was easy to implement but I don’t know what to do with it so right now it’s basically just a generic collect-a-thon 3d platformer.

Here’s the current version, I’m turning this into a Jam game instead. Tomorrow is for music, title screen and making the gameplay more fun https://dl.dropbox.com/u/679615/ld24/WebPlayer/WebPlayer.html

    I’m in again!

I fixed up my workspace just in time for Ludum Dare!

FEEL THE POWER OF DINASOUR SHOWER
    Play dat shit here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=preview&uid=3430

A young dinosaur tries to integrate into human society by starting a transportation business. However, navigating around town is difficult when you’re the size of a house! Try not to break things while getting passengers to where they want to go. However, sometimes passengers don’t feel the need to support your business and run off without paying! Then it’s rampage time, BREAK THINGS!

    Controls:
    Arrow keys/WASD: Move
    Space bar: Jump
    Escape: Exit
    Other stuff is told ingame.

    Timelapse coming soon.

    SCREEN?!?!?

    Progress to the extreme.

    FEEL THE POWER!

There’s now an actual animated/textured dinosaur in there. I’ve also put in two different tracks of music and some bad voice acting.

    Rampage mode!

Okay, so I’ve decoded what my game is about now. It’s about a dinosaur who tries to integrate into a human society by offering transportation services. However, walking around in the citywithout breaking anything is very difficult when you’re a huge dinosaur. So!

Here’s a screenshot of what I have right now. There’s no dinosaur model yet but other than that I think it looks pretty good.

and here’s some ugly art I did to illustrate the concept:

..and here’s a webplayer of what I have right now!

Ok, so I’m making my game in Unity3d and it’s about a giant person trying to navigate around a city. The player will be able to choose which way to play the game by simply destroying everything or navigating carefully. When the player destroys a building the player loses points, and the points go up the whole time so a player aiming for negative points has to be stay productive to keep the points down. In contrast, a player aiming for positive points will try to hit as few buildings as possible and carefully navigate through the city. Every time the player gets to a destination the player gets a point bonus.

Here’s what I have now! I’m going for a pixelly-low res 3d kind of style because texture painting goes much faster that way and I can get a visually appealing game in a shorter amount of time.

    I’m in!

Of course! I didn’t finish last time but when I have finished it’s been loads of fun.

    My tools are:

    • Unity 3D
    • Audacity
    • Cubase
    • A bunch of instruments
    • Photoshop
    • Chronolapse
    • Premiere (For making videos)
    • Probably some file numberer so I can get the pictures into Premiere

    Good luck, everyone!

I’m gonna be using Flash CS5 as I usually do to create my masterpiece.

All my art will be done in Flash CS5 with a cheap tablet, all my music will most likely be recorded in Cubase Le4 with my guitar, a borrowed bass, a midi keyboard, an amp, a mic and a bunch of sexy VSTi’s.

My previous LD games have been Point n’ Click games, this will probably use keyboard input! Whoa!

So.. Yeah! I’m staying up untiy three o’ clock to see the theme, then I’m going to bed to dream sweet game ideas

Yep! I finished my new game, The Villainous Villa. It’s about escaping a mansion, or villa if you’d like to call it that. It’s quite villainous.
I’m really happy with the music in this game especially, so I might put that up for download later.

Yay! I’m a first timer. I’m not the best programmer so it’s probably gonna be a hand drawn point and click game. Expect some good music, too!
