Goats? In MY LD?

Kitten fo’ life!
Also, check out some footage of our jam entry here:
Or wait less than a day to play it
Doing a team entry this time!
Welp, I’m doing a team entry this time
Should be good fun! My last entry got pretty good ratings, so I’m hoping this one will go down just as well, especially with my awesome team of teamy people.
Go 1k kittens~
Mini34 – 64×18!
So, after doing a 3d game in Unity for the last Ludum Dare, and feeling a bit dirty about being all high level, I wanted to scale it down a bit, and do a simpler low level game, in either C++ or C# – And then this mini game along, with it’s tiny screen resolutions (And silly huge ones!) – Perfect!
So, I decided to make a 64×18 game, after just drawing out various boxes and seeing how much detail actually fits in them, then drawing out some rooms, then just kinda slapping gameplay onto the images basically
Using SFML via C#
Here’s some incredibly unexciting screenshots!

It’s slowly coming together, other than it having no major objective or gameplay in place or planned so far!
And yet again, I am getting no sleep
Supplies, and decisions!
Well, I think I’m gonna either use Flixel, if I decide to do a 2d game, or Unity if I decide to do a 3d game, depending on what the theme is
I also went shopping for supplies!

Yeah, I feel bad for that :p
I’m in, and I WILL submit something this time!
Last time I failed badly, in part due to bad planning, in part due to trying to not sleep the entire time after already not sleeping for a day the night it started, but mainly because I only had 1 day to work on it due to various reasons
This time, I am going to submit something!
Planned tools:
Engine/Framework: Not entirely sure yet. I’m familiar with XNA/SFML/Unity, but I feel like trying something a bit different, so maybe Flixel?
Graphics: Photoshop/Paintshop Pro 7. Been looking into some other programs like PyxelEdit too, but nothing felt as comfortable as PSP7 does yet!
SFX: BFXR
Music: Errr. Yeah, I have no idea! I’ll just wing it I guess!
So yeah, not sure about much yet, gonna poke around with different stuff in the next couple of days, can’t wait!
Probably not going to make it :(
On Sunday, I had to head back to my Mums house for Christmas, so I figured, hey, I can finish my game off on my netbook. I installed unity etc on my laptop before leaving…
But forgot, unity needs internet activation before you can use it… So for the ~5 hours I was on the train, I couldn’t work on my game, so I don’t think I’ll have enough time to get my game in a state I’d actually like, since I’m pretty far behind as it is.
I shall try and carry on regardless.
Too much modelling, not enough coding :(

Spent far too much time modelling, I need to do more coding
Not sure if I’ll have enough time though, and I have to head off tomorrow, so I’ll be completing the last half of this on my netbook… not gonna go well.
Probably gonna end up with a half done game, or submit it for the Jam instead
But I shall fight on until the end!
Learnt to model..badly!

Feeling far prouder of this than I probably should :p
Thanks for everyone on the IRC for being so helpful
Haven’t done much 3d modelling before, but someone recommended me Wings3D, and in the first 4 hours, I’ve managed to model a basic corridor with it, woo
Next up… Making more pieces!
I’m in!
My first Ludum Dare, but I’ve been following it for a while, so I’m really looking forward to it
Planning to use:
Unity (coding with C#)
Visual studio
Art:
Paint, Photoshop, It’ll look dreadful whatever I do
Music:
I’m not too sure about this, as I have no musical talent whatsoever, probably will use PixelBlipz.
SFX:
Sfxr!
Hopefully I’ll finish with a working game, and not die from sleep deprivation!
