On this long big weekend day, Ive done a lot of script tweaking. I have mentioned yesterday that i had this horrible glitch where as if the mouse was in the game screen, the game would lag. Fortunately today i fixed that issue! No more lag :) :):)

Iv modified the collision boxes of each item scarcely, eveling script has been tweaked, and other useless scripts have been cleaned out.

I didnt do much graphic editing today other than the leveling effect that occurs when you gain a lvl. Also the area healing spell is now 100% completed. With effects and hp adding pulse, this spell is finally finished!

At the top left corner of the game screen iv added a few icons that shows how much strength bonus you have and also the deffence bonus. By wearing full fire armor the deffence bonus gets to a 60, and the fire sword brings you up to a 30. Trust me these bonuses do make a difference lol.

The exp bar has been modified also, not much change on the physical graphics.

Bottom line? Sorry to say guys but today was just purely script related. And as an added bonus for you guys, ive added fully functioning teleports :) .

ONE LAST POINT BEFORE SNAPSHOTS! Sound is now being implemented for the game( Well its about gosh darn time). Ive spent one full hour today getting 3D sound to work. In other words, If you are close to a waterfall, the noise will be loud, if you are far away from the waterfall, the noise will be very low. If you are far enough there wont be any sound played :) . Ill put the script in the description for you to see. Its all about radians, Pythagoras , and a little know how on sound volume, pitch, and velocity editing.

Whats next?!: Adding more music and sound effects, Creating the Online Client Script!(Oh ya baby), more armor, enemies, blah blah blah…

Monts Online (Progress) Part 6

Today ive made it possible to change between the following items: Boots,  Gauntlets, Helmet, Chestplate, Right-Hand Weapon, Left-Hand Weapon, Left-Hand Shield, Cape, Shoulder guards. This means that mixing and matching is now possible!! You can have a mix of fire armor, ice armor, normal clothes etc.

I removed the ranged, magic, warrior exp bars and replaced them with one big main lvl bar. This means that if you are lvl 5 in general by only using magic, your ranged will also be upgraded(Unfortunately i guess?).

New attack tabs are here! Oh yes they are! Complete with 4 skills: Power Strike, Revive, Heal Area, Heal single.

currently only the Heal area works. The rest of the specials will come later.

The boss stage is now finished! With lava flowing around the arena, and with neon floors this is the perfect place to put in my Giant Golem.

Non-visible updates:

Because the game now currently has 17,000 faces(Polygons), im worried that adding enemies will make the game lag, thus!! No worries! Since this is one big map, one big scene, one big world, the game will only load the area inwhich you are currently in. This reduces the amount of polygons significantly!

I say Blender Game Engine….BRING IT ON

Note: The overall world is finished! fewww, all thats left to do is to add more vegetation, rocks, decorations and then the world will be finished 100%.

Whats Next??: More Armor, working skill tabs, leveling sparks for when achieved lvl, enemy AI modification.

Glitches: If the mouse is in the Game window, the game lags. This is something i really need to find out how to fix, and fast. If this never gets fixed, just make sure you move your mouse outside the game window and it will run extremely smoothly :) .

Monts Online (Progress) Part 5!

I have been working really hard day and night and even at school to get this game done once and for all. I hope in the end it will be all worth it!

Update 1> The Entrance  to the dungeon is connected to the Lakeshore not far from town. The dungeon is going to hold the Stone giant(that is my future plan) and will also give access to amazing floating islands area.

My real goal in this game is really to make the most epic land i could possibly make. I am inspired by the movie Avatar so this is why im putting in floating islands and massive waterfalls.

Back to the updates! My second set of armor has been made. The armor also comes with a fire cape which does has fire dripping animation. The New fire sword also has a nice fire touch to it(Also fire animated!).

Inside the dungeon is a little lava ditch. Complete with oozing lava, half broken bridge, perfect condition bridge, and a magma bed. This dungeon is truly what you can expect it to be.

I modified the Leveling system to fit the experience more accordingly. The formula i used to make the exp and lvl ratio was initially X Power 2 + 1. That didnt give the experience much of a challenge so i then changed it to (X ^ 3) – (X^2). This made the exp and lvl ratio just perfect! In conclusion: remember when you asked your teacher in math class when you  were ever going to use algebra? Well this is it baby! Math is usefully stay in school.

Leave any suggestions for what i should put in this dungeon! If its bad guys, aesthetics, skeleton remains, lights, different textures, LET ME KNOW! The more advice i get from people, the greater chance you will have to be in the end game credits! So let me know what you think, what to change and so on.

NOTE:Magic, Ranged, Melee exp bars have been added(Needs a bit of tweaking though)

PS: Sorry if my grammar isnt very good, i am doing this fast lol. Thats my excuse!

 

 

 

Monts Online (Progress) Part 4

Here it is! See i told you armor would come!

The new ICE Armor is now implemented for use in-game. Its suppose to be unlocked by defeating the ice boss.

Although i didnt create the ice boss yet, i did create another boss called the Stone Giant. This NPC is massive! he is 15 times the size of a Mont. He has Steel gates as knee guards. A shield as a belt buckle. Spears impaled on his back. This boss is awesome!

Ive also added a health bar that will adapt to levels gained throughout your journey in the Monts world.

The Ice Bow also comes with the armor as well as the Ice Longsword. They are strong weapons thus i had to implement enemies to die!

Enemies do die and also add experience to your last skill used to defeat your opponent. Example: If i kill you with a bow and arrow, i will get ranged exp. If i kill you with magic, i get magic exp.

As requested by RYAN, I have Black trimmed The center fountain just for you buddy! Also as requested by another user, more vegetation has been added.

The town NPC has been updated with a new look with shoulder guards and a cape!

Finally the last update for the day, MIST has been added as to speed up the game. It wont lag with the mist in other words.

Next Step? More npcs, more armor, more weapons, and a dungeon?? Stay Tuned!

The main town is D-U-N..DONE! Not only is the main town completed, but i had also added extra scenery with a nice lake and rocks(Floating island in the sky dripping water)  I also finished creating the server.exe. The online is now officially 50% completed.

Next step?: Creating new monsters and more weapons and armor. Stay Tuned!

Alright guys so not much has changed since yesterday. All I have been working on is the overall scenery and esthetics of the main town. I had created all the weapons earlier today but I later got the blue screen of death and so i lost my work of weapons. Luckily i do still have the textures ready made. Here is a snapshot of the town. The waterfalls in the background are animated textures.

Next step? More towns, Complete weapons, armor(Coming soon!), ranged weapons etc.

 

Monts Online (Progress) Part 1

Ok So i added a few new things since my last post. Iv added an Archery Skill, Magic, and Blood Effects. Iv also been working on the map a little bit. You should be starting the game off inside castle walls and work your way out. Iv also added a highlighting system for character selection and also new character skins. Armor will come soon as i am planning on making capes, shoulder guards and much much more.

Note: The camera angles that you see below, is actually the way you see it in game. You navigate the camera by pressing down on the middle button thus letting you rotate around your character. Also using the wheel up/down you can zoom in and out. The angles are capped so you will not be able to make the camera go below ground :) .

 

Next update? Bigger map, more effects, new enemies!, stay tuned guys!!
