Almost done, but one of the main features is still missing. And also a title screen and all that is missing.

A little less sick today, I got the basic network functionality going. I don’t know if I’ll make it in time for the deadline though, I’m still missing some important stuff.names

    Idea!

I have made a mockup of what my LD game may look like if I can manage to code it through this sickness.
The title is: File Sharing Criminal!
Or maybe I’ll just leave it at “Torrenter” which is simpler.
I wouldn’t say you are the actually a villain at all, but the current laws would put you in jail, so there’s that.

    Bullet physics

So I added bullets. But they are slow and affected by gravity, so they kind of drop on the floor and roll. Uh…

    Title screen is done

Took a break making the title screen. Looks pretty cool.

    Even more pixels

Not being happy enough with my last atrocity, I had to make one more level.

    Level 2 is go

Man, the NES palette is awful, and I’m awful at spriting. The result is here.

I could have used tiles and saved hours of my time but noooo, I had to do it manually.

    Pixel woes

So I realized my “resolution” was too high for the intended effect, and spent the next many hours making my last area look pixelated.

So, turns out I can’t sprite for shit. I guess it’s passing grade.

Fixed most of the physics problems and added the player character. Collision is pixel perfect, I just need to sort a landing bug.

Next up, some graphics and objectives.

Made the layers into a generic thing, added particles, added some randomness to the brush.
You can actually play this version a bit if you want, controls are click, + and – in the numpad switch layers. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/55288036/EvolutionLD24-1.swf

What may become the main game mechanic has been coded. I’m not too confident as to weather I may be able to produce graphics that match the idea, but I have hope. Maybe if I’m lucky I can figure out AS3 3D in time and skip some of the pixels.

    Almost finished!

Still trying to work around some flash security though. Using the /twitter twitter for tests.

Progress! The main menu and connectivity is done. Now for the randomly generated stuff and game itself.

In case you wonder, this started from the idea of books being tiny worlds. Then somehow went into Twitter, with writing smaller than any other.
