So close!
Unfortunately, I’m going to have to call it a day and enter the jam, for one reason only:
Yes, it’s all her fault!
My game is about 80% done though. Just a shame I’m just that little bit too far away from finishing. (Approximately half my time is devoted to puppy, so I’m happy I did so much really.)
Good luck to everyone in the last few hours! GO GO GO!
Lunchtime report!
Finally got my idea! Wrote some notes, only to be interrupted by puppy peeing on the carpet.
Yeah, work on that bone instead, puppy.
I decided before the compo started that I’d do a VN, no matter what. So ‘alone’ is not the greatest theme for that sort of game…. which just means it’s MORE fun! I’ve got a kind of room plan now, so I’m going to draw as many as I can, and start linking them up and putting stuff in them.
I’ve got the feeling that this game is too big. But it’s more because there’s lots of art, and less because there’s lots of writing. Well, let’s see what happens!
Woo!
Too tired to post much about it though. I wish I’d been faster and had more time to spend on art. It’s a silly game too! Kind of a parody of too many things…
Not the best start…
Being woken up way too early with back ache is not the best way to start LD. D: But at least it gave me time to think of ideas.
I didn’t want to do another visual novel (whyyy?) but it seems like it’s going to happen. Eep! I’m determined to get a game done as being the 20th LD, it feels more special and fancy and magical.
Good luck everyone! Make beautiful games! :3
Better than nothing…
I hit a horrible bug around half 4 today
(well, more like a series of bugs) and gave up. But then realised what the solution was, and fixed it, too late for the compo. But I might be able to get it done for the jam
(If you’re wondering, the bug was dialogue… which you can see is fixed in the screenshot! ^o^ If only I had time to mess with the font…)
Finished!
I apologise if there are any bugs… as I have had no time to test it!
Also, I would like to spend more time on the artwork at some point, give it a proper proof read (ANY proof read), and make some music… But for now, this is it.
(It’s really, really stupid. I apologise.)
Still jamming away…
Still jamming away. Got the writing and code all done. Now I’ve just got to do backgrounds and title screen. Looks like I’ll be speed-painting them somehow (there are 13! EEP!!!)
Screenshot (sans background):

Playable kinda…
I finished writing my game at least, and it doesn’t crash. Yay! Art time is NOW!

Shame!
I feel ashamed of my lack of screenshot and blogging, but I have nothing but code right now! For shame!!! I have written half the text for my game though.
Plan to start the art tomorrow, and try get as much text done as possible. This is going to be rough, but oh well! (Looks like I’m aiming for the jam anyway, if only for the extra time. Whoops! XD )
Late intent!
Nothing to show as I’ve been writing notes. XD I decided no matter what the theme was, I would do something strange… So the most unlikely thing I could think of was a visual novel.
So that’s what I’m going to make! Hoorah! It will have spies and things!
Oh, and good luck everyone! ^o^
There’s still time!
I have decided to make another game within the last couple of hours. XD Yes! Here we gooo!
Good luck finishing up, everyone! :3
Finished!!!
YES!!! XD

Fun fun. It’s a bit simple, but hey.
Hopefully there are no bugs… or only very small ones!
(No music. If I can’t have my ukulele, you can’t have music!)
Thank-you! It has been fun! XD
It’s closer to being finished than it seems!
Current progress :3

FWIW, has health working (on a timer), ‘death’ (with respawn) and one island designed. Two more to go, and then it’s just a matter of plugging a few gaps and making it pretty!
Argh, I need a name though!
(No chance for music – left my ukulele at home XD and no one would thank me for trying to record it in a cafe.)
Slow start is slow
Started kinda slow. In the usual fashion, spent all my time on art… But because the islands are so large (and so so hand drawn) it took a bit longer to get anything playable. Next, GUI and design and more art! YAY!

My original plan for this was too big, and a bit… diluted. Making it simpler now, so it can be tighter (and get finished, perhaps with music, for once!)
Due to popular demand…
…I updated my game to have diagonal movement too. (Linklink! And it is faster as well.)
But don’t worry, the main windows download on the entry page is still the old version.
