I just wanted to let people know about the enhanced version of my game I just uploaded. It’s an abstract game where you use shadows to orient yourself and go through walls to escape enemies.
You can play Shape of shades here : [PLAY]
Hi everyone. I have no idea what I’ll use yet, so here’s the usual list of tools/languages I might use or not :
- Haxe / NME (have to try HaxePunk)
I’m ready for this LD #25 !
Your spaceship crashed on an unknown planet called Earth and where inhabitants seems to live in The Middle Ages. There is kings, knights, princess and treasure hunters but they all appears to be cowards.
So your grandpa decided for you that you will explore dangerous dungeons on this planet in order to get loots and treasures and sell it in your brand new shop. Yes, you have a shop where people comes, buy a treasure and claim to every one that he has explored the dungeon, killed the monster and got the treasure
With enough money you will be able to repair your ship and get the hell out of this damn planet !
Left & Right Arrow : Move
Up Arrow & Space : Jump (when jump available)
Down Arrow & X : Interact
C & Z : shoot (when gun available)
There is some bugs :
- If your character don’t appear on the screen after changing area, I’m sorry but you’re screwed… this is a shitty tips but try to avoid returning to already visited area (when you don’t have to).
- You can’t re-enter your own shop… (anyway you don’t have to do that to finish the game)
A bug fixed version will come soon. I’ll made a new post about it.
Two new scrrenshots for now.
The first one is probably where the game start :
The second is out this building
I have so much to do, and only 16 hours left !
For example there is not yet “real levels”, there is no monsters, I’m planning to add other characters… so much to do.
GO GO !
I’ve speed drawn a bunch of tiles. Also coded a tile loader + parallax for bush and clouds, but I have a lot to do. There is still no real gameplay.
Next I’ll write a level loader, then draw more tiles, create some objects and create the start area. There is the village + some interior houses. And finally DUNGEONS ! oh yeah
What I’m eating while writing this post:
Here’s my sketch / ideas / incomplete todo list :
I sucks at drawing but I have to write ideas even if I’m the only one to understand what it means.
The compo started at 4:00 am in my local time, and it’s now 12 pm. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what kind of game I could possibly make in 48 hours and in accordance with the theme. I was close to give up. But I’ve decided that even if the game will be bad, deja vu, not original I will just enjoy making it and have fun. So here it is
The first screenshot with our little yet unamed buddy.
It will be a metroidvania. Probably. With a little twist in the story. If I have enough time to do all that I planned.
First thing : ZOMG I have wrote the worst code ever …
You are the Red player and you start the game on a planet. Your enemy is Blue. You both can expand to neutral planets, accumulate more units with yours mother ships, fight for the possession of a planet, and kill each other =]
You also can make your own custom maps.
Since the last post I have deleted :
- solar systems idea
- zoom in / zoom out
- camera movement
- (ingame ?) Gameplay explanation / How to play
- ships attributes depending on the planet
- Some levels
- tutorial (maybe)
- check the Windows version
Hello mates !
To tell the truth I don’t like this theme. Also, this is my first attempt to any game making’s jam. I hope I’ll find a way to make my game
I have plenty of food, coke and coffee. So I’m ready. Here’s my idea :
I’m taking the word ‘Discovery’ as what happen when you Explore & Stuff. So it will be a Space RTS gameplay where at start you control a “home world planet” bound to a sun with (fake) gravity – I sucks at physics things. On the journey, you’ll have fight in space battles against (scary?) aliens. Your goal is to expand, control the solar system(s) and eliminate all the aliens…
Rotating planets :
By the way, the game is in Python2.6, using pygame (SDL) and pycairo (Cairo) library. Currently on GNU/Linux, I hope Windows version will be fine.
