Games and Beers
Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 11:16 amDon’t know if any participants from Belgium would like to meet up.
I can’t host something big in my own home, but if enough people would like to come together sunday evening (say, 20.30h-ish) to show off their entry (compo or jam), we could meet up in a café.
Location: Region Antwerp – Beveren – Sint Niklaas

)
Not Finished
Monday, August 22nd, 2011 12:58 pmDidn’t finish. I’m just too tired right now, and it’s nowhere near done. Thats what you get for slacking off I guess…
Things that went well:
* Forming idea’s
Things that didn’t go well:
* Always putting my idea’s in and wasting time instead of working on the core game
* Internet on computer
* Notch livestream
Overall a great experience. I feel ready for december. I’ll try not to get distracted as easily.

movement = arrowkeys
rest = R
if Stamina = 0, you need 20 rests. (should have lowered, didn’t… méh)
Turn based gameplay, but with buttonbashing, feels reamtime-ish

Day Two
Sunday, August 21st, 2011 2:03 pmWell, less slacking off. Might have been able to do more, but with temperatures well above 27°C , I just took it easy. Also, BBQ yesterday and only waking up around 13.00 didn’t help either… (but no hangover *cheer*)

Progress… Kinda
Saturday, August 20th, 2011 9:34 amSo,
I didn’t like the theme very much when I woke up. Was wondering what I could do with it.
After going to the shops with my GF, couldn’t think of anything else but the beach. Mainly because this beeing the first decent weekend for a while here in Belgium…
And then I had it! Whales escaping from Whalers.
Did a quick code and (BAH) programmer art
spot the whale, spot the whaler.
Also, timelapse
I did a lot of slacking off, even after the late start
Entering with a team
Saturday, August 13th, 2011 5:51 amSo, I’ve cleared my weekend and convinced a friend to join the effort. We’ll be entering this LD-Jam with:
Language: Java
Art: The Gimp
Audio/sfx: If we get around to it…
First Compo!
Saturday, July 23rd, 2011 3:56 amWell, this will be my very first Ludum Dare mini …
Might be the wrong timing, because my nephew is coming over the weekend of the mini, so I will have to spend some time with him on sunday. But being the age of under 2, he’ll have to take a nap and go to bed early.
Because I knew I didn’t have the time, I did *some* lines of code in the past, without entering the compo. Just to check if I was up for it.
I still feel a bit worried about the whole thing (specialy time management, knowledge).
I do have a bit of a history with programming, from GameMaker to VB6/VB.net and Truevision3D. This compo I’ll be using:
- Language: Java
- Tech: LWJGL?
- IDE: Netbeans
- Graphics: GIMP
Now, more learning so that I’m ready for next weekend!
