Real World Gathering for Ludum Dare 24 in Darmstadt, Germany
Hi,
Spielmeister is going to host a real world gathering for ludum dare 24.
Date: Saturday, August 25th 9:00 AM till Sunday 10:00 PM (CEST)
Venue: Spielmeister HQ, Adelungstr. 30a, 64283 Darmstadt / Germany
There will be free beer, drinks and snacks 
We’ll provide you with external monitors (no need to bring your own!). There will be also a place to sleep/rest if you bring your own sleeping bag/mat.

Ok, so I will be definitely there. Last time was really fun, so I’m totally looking forward to that one. I also asked a friend if he’s interested in attending, so maybe I won’t have to travel alone like last time.
For those who are thinking “that could be fun” -> it’s awesome and you should be there!

Ich selbst bin Anfänger, vor allem im Bereich Computergrafik.
Momentan arbeite ich an einer Tilemap-Engine mit hexagonalen Zellen. Gerne würde ich den vorhandenen Code mit euch “diskutieren” (klingt geschwollen, ich bin aber bescheiden) und teilen, falls es für den dann aktuellen Contest von Nutzen ist.
Da ich noch nicht so weit bin werde ich wohl nicht vor Ort an der Aufgabe arbeiten, ich erhoffe mir primär Erfahrungsaustausch.
Habe fest vor zu kommen.

Mit welcher Sprache / Framework hast du deine Engine denn geschrieben?
Ich kann nur betonen, dass es dort ziemlich locker zu geht und dass es natürlich kein Problem ist, wenn man noch nicht so weit ist und sich evtl. nur ein bischen austauschen möchte bzw. einfach mal sehen will wie sich die anderen in den kurzen 48 Stunden so anstellen (ausserdem Bier)

Naja, selbst wenn kein Spiel bei rum kommt, gibt es auf jeden Fall gute Laune (und Bier, falls das noch nicht bekannt gemacht wurde 
).

Sprache C++, OpenGL / GLUT, alle Grafikelemente sollen prozedural generiert werden (das ist das Ziel).
Überlege eventuell zu SDL zu wechseln aber momentan läuft es ganz ok.
Zufällig hab ich jetzt mitbekommen dass es wohl BIER geben wird ?! XD

Ich werde auf meine JavaScript game engine setzen, native builds dann mit dem eigenen V8GL runtime (und GL/GLU/GLUT bindings). Hat das letzte mal fuers Rapid Prototyping ganz gut geklappt

I would be there as you guys are only about a 1.5 hour drive for me; but this time around I’m doing the 72-hour thing with a friend.
Perhaps I’ll come out for LD25.
Regardless, it’s awesome that you guys are hosting this and I hope everyone has fun.
Maybe next year ill join you guys, only problem is the 300+km drive
