Is it OK to use text from www.cooltext.com in my contrast entry?  What about in the full LD’s?

Well, in the Mini LD, you can, because well, it’s hipster like that. But the full LD rules require you make all your art in the 48 hours by yourself, without those kind of tools.

LD rules explicitly state that we’re allowed to use content creation tools, which this question falls under.

But while cooltext.com is a content creation tool, do check their terms of use for how their images can be used, or how they are licensed.

You are correct, this kind of content creation tool is perfectly fine. It’s no different to the tools to automatically generate sound effects or music.

As for the content license, once you generate an image it displays the following:

Oh, gosh, sorry, it turns out I was wrong. I thought cooltext seemed more like ripping premade art than a content creation tool, but looking back, you guys are probably right. It definitely is more like content creation. Sorry about that there.
