games that demand your attention

a few of my favorite entries so far have gotten far less attention than is acceptable. what the heck, people. please rectify this accordingly;

a happy-ass game about little dudes hanging out. more charming than any one game has any goddamn right to be.

an adorable space odyssey involving giant snakes, fetuses, and ghosts. they even drew box art for fuck’s sake. ridiculous.

a neat little platformer with a cool twist. I don’t want to give away what it does — just go play it!!

have you played them? all of them? you are fucking up big time if not.
feel free to recommend any games that you think I’d like, especially your own! (see what I did there?)

    They all look awesome. Added them all (and yours) to my queue (ran out of time today, will play them tomorrow). Thanks for sharing.

    My only guess of why they don’t have much plays is because they don’t have much coolness. Which is why I don’t like this coolness engine, it forces you to play games constantly just to have your entry show up frequently for people.

      they each have a fair bit of coolness, I think. it seems like I’ve seen chambers comment on almost every other game I play.

      I quite like the way coolness works now, personally. it’s nice to have direct agency in how many plays your game gets, along with good ol’ word-of-mouth. and luckily I feel that there’s enough community etiquette to keep it from feeling disingenuous.

      “it forces you to play games constantly just to have your entry show up frequently for people.” <- This is exactly the reason why this system was introduced, because people SHOULD rate others' games. Also, nobody hinders you to spread the word about your game yourself.

        I guess you’re right, last Ludum Dare I got like only 6 ratings, and now I got almost 40.
        It’s just a little too intimidating.

    Wow, got quite surprised to stumble into mine while browsing the first page! I’ll check out the other ones as well as yours tonight. Thank you for the recommendations!

    Thank you for bringing Recluse to my attention. I think it is my new favorite game of the compo.
