LD32 Day 1

Ok so the visuals aren’t very spectacular but I managed to get my space dude moving around a room and correctly colliding with walls and such. This was all handled by Unity’s physics and the 2d toolkit.

The hardest part thus far was tweaking the physics params as it was difficult to get the right scale because I am using the 2d toolkit and that works in pixel units. I found that I had to drastically lower the mass of my player to 0.001 to get it to move. All ‘n all I’ve probably spent too long on the physics stuff but has been a good learning experience.

So I’ve got my player moving around a pretty empty room using physics but the game loop is complete and that’s the main thing.

Tomorrow enemies, gameplay, etc. Now… rest.
