Here is a short demo of what I managed to get so far.

You can walk around in your character’s tiny world (you can also jump, yeah ! :3)

   I’ll have a play later, still busy coding! I really like the colour palette you’ve used in the screen shot, it’s got a parchment / old book look to it. Nice!

   Actually, the palette I used is a variation of the original Gameboy Palette. But I have to agree with you, it looks like an old book.
