Disco Dancin’ in the Anathema Mines
Yo!
It’s been a few weeks .. but I’ve been working away on my Anathema Mines (and also getting my crazy Chickon game released!) Here’s a screenie for ya:
DISCO DANCIN’ YAAAAHH!!!
So, yeah, for the real levels I might just have to be a bit more miserly with my laser placement so things don’t start to look silly

First LD- I’m in
This will be my first LD (and first post), so things may be a little bumpy. I do think, however, that I can do it.
For this competition, I will be using Stencyl (Flash) as the game engine, sfxr/bfxr for the sounds, and Paint.NET for the graphics.
LD Gift exchange is on
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 7:52 amSo I ran the match-up script for the LD gift exchange 2011 and just sent out the mails to all the participants.
It’s 33 participants in total, and unfortunately some europeans got other europeans for a sendout. I hope though that the script ran just fine. I actually don’t know who got who for the gift exchange. I could look it up in the database, but that would be only half the fun.
So if there was any mistake with the match-up and you got someone from your own country, please contact me.
But so long, go shopping and send out the gifts until the 30.th of November.
I AM IN
Hello everyone,
first post here on ludumdare, I’ve been tinkering away on my own on a few game projects over the past few years, so I thought I might as well join LD this year.
I’ll be using Pygame, Tiled, Photoshop and Pxtone,
Should be fun!
Ludum Dare 22 – You can Count on Me
I’m in for LD22. Absolutely.
I’ve been experimenting with JavaScript, which will likely be my tool of choice. I will need to find a place for hosting JavaScript apps, though… :/
That being said, I’m in. Absolutely.
pygamezine launch
PyGameZine has been launched. For more details see the http://www.pygame.org/ website.
It’s that time of year again!

For my tools, it’s gonna be this:
- Game Maker 8
- Photoshop/Illustrator CS5
- Chronolapse
- SFXR
- (Hopefully not but probably) Wolfram Tones
I’m going to spend the next 25 days procrastinating and listening to Daft Punk. Let’s do this!
LD #22: I’m In!
Sunday, November 20th, 2011 8:18 pmI’m going to try my hand at this. It will be my first LD entry. I expect I might fail
Already requested the 16th off from work
I program in C++, and I think I’m going to stick with using my old standby of Allegro. As far as I can tell that’s allowed?
Presentation in German, and stuff
Heya,
I gave a talk in October 2011 (at the Devmania, a small-ish Hobby Gamedev Convention in Germany) about the three Ludum Dare games I made so far, in front of ~80 people. You can watch it here if you happen to speak/understand German or just want to hear some gibberish: http://www.devmania.org/videos (scroll down to “Ludum Dare”). You won’t see my face in the video, as I was hidden behind a monitor, thank God.
Unfortunately the recording started a little bit late, so some stuff about I told about Ludum Dare is missing. But you probably know it anyway.
I’d also like to avail myself of the opportunity of announcing that “I’m in”! I’m not perfectly sure that I will really participate in LD No 22 (as the date is a little bit too near to Christmas), but at least I would like to do it.
Some shameless advertising following: At the Devmania I also created a game (theme: “Pirates”) in ~12 hours, called “Treasure Chest Island”, together with talented artist Björn Grunewald. You can now play an extended version on Kongregate. It is the first game I know of in which you play as a treasure chest, or a chest in general.
CompoHub is now open!
CompoHub (which wrote about earlier) is finally fully open! It lists all kinds of game development events, like Ludum Dare, and optionally sends them to your feed reader too. Check it out if your interested!
I haven’t added all the features I’ve talked about but I may add them later. Contact me if you would like to update the content.
Battleplan 1.0 released!
After months of “really hard” development we are proud to release first stable version of Battleplan!
We also would like to give huge thank to Ludum Dare, because it gave us a lot of experience, which was extremely important for us to finish this game!
Battleplan is based on a traditional paper-and-pencil game known as Battleships. We have started developing it since April 9, 2011, as our first big project.
Gameplay is quite simple, you have four ships – two cruisers and two aircraft carriers, which you have to put on a field. Of course you must obey some rules, while placing them. Then you can try your luck against the computer.

[LD22] Screen Casting on Linux
Hi!
I most probably will be taking part in Ludum Dare 22. I wanted to make a screencast this time. However I can’t find some decent software that will take timed screenshots. Does anyone have a suggestion (for Linux of course) ?
Thanks

How Do You Like The Menu’s?
Hello everyone!
I wanted to know YOUR opinion on my new game I am creating. I am felling that the menu’s for the game don’t feel “alive”, they fell a bit depressing in a way… I put a couple of screenshots below showing the menu’s. Thanks for your opinion!
Here is the Main Menu:

Here is the Mission Selection Menu (I still need to adjust the numbers):

Thanks for your help!
From the help that ludumdare.com has given me, I have edited the menu’s to look like this (I will still edit it more though):

My new Game with Flash 11 (stage3D) is online.
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 12:25 pmAfter the bad news that adobe announced last week, i want to share with the community my new flash game called “Course 2 voiture radiocommandée” (french game) . I hope flash will stay alive for long time.
With all the library out there the game took only 2 day to code, I used Flare3D for 3D and QuickBox2D for phyics. I like flash if you too, just send #FlashIsNotDead on twitter
The game is in beta (only 5 level) to test if my visitors don’t have problem with Flash11..
Herre some screens of the game:

The game is in BETA (only five level, and one game mode you have to collect the coin in shortest time possible)
To test the game http://www.jeu-de-voiture.com/course+de+voiture+radiocommande.php

Im in Ludum dare 22. But have questions.
well I’m super excited about LD22 but have a couple questions
1. I have competed before in LD16 and most games were arcade styled games. But I’m thinking about making mine an fps game. I’d think an fps game would be to muchforthis compotition. What dou you guys think.
Reminder: Sign up for the Gift exchange NOW
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 12:33 amWe have already 27 people subscribed to our Ludum Dare gift exchange 2011. And there is only one week left for subscription.
We still need some more to make it uber awesome. Plus we need at least 7 more non-europeans so that everyone has a match-up from another continent. Would be sad to have 7 european folks getting stuff from their own continent.
As a hint to what could happen for the gift exchange check out PoV’s unboxing from last year.
So SIGN UP NOW!!!
