Hi guys, this is my first ever experience I will have had working with game creating/Ludum Dare Compo and I think I’m going to use Unity and if that doesn’t go anywhere I may try coding with Java. Well best of luck to all contestants and I better start learning Unity!

I should be able to enter, provided my laptop is fixed by then and I have no outstanding work to do. Also if my parents will let me stay awake constantly for 48 hours. If not I’ll have to sneak on my laptop when I go to bed.

I’m not yet 100% sure that I’m going to have time yet since I have a lot of stuff going on, and I haven’t checked dates yet, but it should be fine so I’ll just blindly assume it will be. Will be using C and allegro 5. I may even try and make a timelapse this time.

One crappy game made of little colored dots you say? Coming right up!

Four weeks! It’s exciting! Last year I didn’t finish my project. I tried desperately but it was a no go. This year I plan really finishing a game. REALLY! No exceptions here, it’s set in stone.
Tools
I plan on using Unity3D, Boo Scripting, C# (aka mono), Photoshop and/or Blender for this Ludum Dare. I’m not the best at making 3D graphics, but I’ve made a pretty awesome sword in the past. Who knows.
Other stuff
Like last Ludum Dare, I will stream my process, similarly to @notch. My live stream will consist of a pre-dare party, where I will play indie games until the countdown hits zero and the theme is unveiled, stay tuned to this blog for more info. I will be streaming awesome music, interacting with the chat and lots of frustrations!

Pre-pre Ludum Dare
Before I even start thinking about what kind of game I’m making, I need to brush up on my Unity3D skills. I need to learn how to handle

  • Collisions
  • Sound
  • Material blending modes

I think that’s about it! See yah on the battlefield! I’ll post more information about the stream provider and times closer to the 16th. DARE!

ActionScript 3.0 (i still dream of making an awesome flash game)

Flixel (getting better with each LD (only time i work with it though))

SFXR, WolframTunes, Paint.NET

Im in now!

Anyway, just thought I would share the happy news. I’m also 95% done my second book “Game Jam Survival Guide” which already has a contract and ISBN number, and a third is in negotiations!

I’m so grateful for all the good luck I have. I could not have done it without +David Barnes +Maitreya Bhakal +Terry Paton +Thibault Imbert +Ryan Speets +Alejandro Santander +Mikko Haapoja +Evan Miller and so many more of my gamedev colleagues here, on g+ and twitter. There’s a bit of each of you in the book.

I must have saved the universe in a previous life since so many good things simply fall into my lap. Okay, a little hard work doesn’t hurt… but overall I feel like the luckiest guy in the world on a daily basis. Perhaps just believing that you’re lucky makes it so.

Kind regards,

Howdy.
I miserably failed the October challenge 2011. Mainly because I wanted to polish the release version a bit and add some website and example games.
But! I finally made it. You can get the GACK (Gaming App Construction Kit) now for your touchpad (HP, WebOS) or any Android Tablet that has a 1024×768 screen at least.

I sold already 10 pieces. Here’s a link to promo codes for the Touchpad:

Maybe this time we can break 600 games (although that might not be a good thing).

My goal this time is to make a game that DOESN’T crash randomly because that’s not a good thing. That’s in addition to, you know, everything else, but this whole technical thing gets in the way of that whole fun thing.

EDIT: I wonder if I could make a programming game. I mean, this seems like a rather apt community for such a game…

Since the last Ludum Dare I made my descition. I trained my skills in Java Applets and made some small games.

Nothing special. Just pixelgames. But it was fun.
Now I will try to do something on my own. Just for fun.

See you coding!

Hi!

This is my first post on Ludum Dare but I’ve already made an entry for the miniLD #30…

So, I’ve just a question, can I use the Citrus Engine for my next game(LD #22)? Thanks!

PS: sorry for my bad english, it isn’t my motherlanguage.

I’m down for some Ludum dare fun times.  This will be my first attempt and hopefully my first success.  I will be using java and be voting for evolution.  I think it is time.
