Hello!

This is my very first LD and I am going to make a Html canvas game using JavaScript.

I will use my own framework for basic stuff like sound, image loading, vector math and also a simple but useful layered 2D grid editor written in Java which I will post a link to later.

I am really looking forward to this event!

C’ello, I’am In’again.

Not sure what I’m doing, just followed a link posted by a user over at touchofdeathforums. I’ve read the help guide, the compo idea seems interesting and eh….I’m in? I use VB6 and I know a bit of C++ but not much. So yea… ello people.

I am in…

Hello peeps!

Some of you may remember my though-provoking and revolutionary game from LD #21, the awesome “OMFG Aliens!” inverted tower defense, with advanced artificial stupidity, no physics, square entities and powerful ray-based bullet simulations.

I will be back for LD #22, and this time I’m dropping C++ and SFML in favour of Lua and Löve.

Stupidly yours, Gaeel/Jarajski

Probably in the Jam with a friend, but I’m in anyway! :)
This will be my first LD, though I make games for a little while now…
I will code in AS3 with FlashDevelop (best IDE ever! ^^)
Can’t wait!

I’m in for realsies

DS' picture quality sucks

I’m joining LD once again. My first one was LD#19 with “Mini Ghost Hunter” and I learned a lot from that, getting an 11 overall position and 5 graphics.

On LD#20 I was kinda sloppy and made a pretty crappy game, “Squid Squares”, don’t even remember my score on that one.

Now I’m in for good, I’ll try my best

My tools:

Construct Classic
Photoshop
Chronolapse
BFXR

I’ll be live streaming the thing (friend’s suggestion) even if there will be no one watching (and there won’t be) just for the fun of it.

An Idea for a New Ludum Dare Challenge: Help a Newbie Release a Game!

Posted by
Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 5:20 pm

OK, this is an idea that I think would be very cool. As you are well aware, many newbies will try and fail at game making and lose interest in it in the long run. Maybe we could help them with our knowledge of coding and artistic expression. In return we will surely get a large amount of creativity and unique gameplay. So my challenge is this:

  • Find a newbie indie game developer on a forum, blog or other website
  • Help them with any game making requirements to your fullest ability
  • Add some of your own ideas to the game making process
  • Finish and release a game with your newbie partner
That’s it. Just an idea I’m throwing out there. What’s your feedback on this?

I, too, am in

This will be my first LD, I’m excited for it.  I can’t decide what I want to make my game in though.  I’m skilled with Java, C/C++, and Python, and I’ve been looking at Unity recently.  I’m thinking about perhaps using Game Maker for this competition though.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Yes, I’ll be there to make a second attempt after my previous game last winter.

I will be using HaXe + NME + Inkscape + The Gimp + SFXR + my brain + my hands + a few litres of YogiTea as well as some meditation and Taïchi, all this to find a way to entertain my fellow ludum darists ;)

As we say in French : Youpi !

This will by my first LD. It looks like there are quite a lot of newcomers this time.

I have limited game making experience, but I’m a rusty CS grad so I am hoping to re-prove myself to myself. I’ll probably use Python or C, but I might go with Flashpunk if I’m up to using something new. GraphicsGale and GIMP, along with some MilkyTracker as well. All of that doesn’t matter of course. I am playing for the product.

A wallpaper!

UPDATE: Now with more glittery stuff and an unnecessary (it’s still awesome, though) “Code your game in 48 hours!” on the side

I’m slacki… err.. listening to my CS teacher. And I just experimented with Photoshop a bit.

If green/black isn’t your style of colour you won’t like it.

The result is this: Wallpaperz!

It’s only 1280×1024, but it looks fine on 1920×1080.

If you want, use it, share it, love it. (If you do share it, please just link back to me.)

This will be my first ever LD that I ACTUALLY participate in. I recently learned Python and it seems more fun and slightly easier to use than Java (plus runs slightly smoother).

I will be using Python (Notepad++ and IDLE)

Varying on theme but if usable, I will be using libtcod (for roguelike development. I love making roguelikes. A lot.)

The Anathema Mini-Map

Originally I had a pretty ugly colored-pixel-per-tile minimap. Some of my alpha testers protested, so I made it look a ton better.

The mini map only displays areas you have already seen. More or less.

I might try and get a beta going pretty soon here … hopefully that comes together!

Saturday evening I made a small christmas game with a friend. It’s far from done and I doubt that it will ever be more than a Saturday evening jam game ;)

Here it is:

Notes: Quite bad level design. No difficult levels. (I will fix that).  You only have 2 clones, but I didn’t add any GUI to show you that ;)

Surprised Man hope to be in for the Jam, release The Wager 1.2

Posted by
Monday, November 28th, 2011 6:50 am

Our two person team, Surprised Man loves Ludum Dare because it’s the thing that actually got us making games instead of just talking about it. Since doing The Wager at the end of last year for LD19, we’ve been tinkering with it and working on our next projects. But we’re hoping to take a break from our current project this December to have another go for LD22, as long as any unforseen busy-ness doesn’t prevent us as can happen this time of year. So make that a tentative we’re in!

As for The Wager, we’ve had thousands of people play it which beats our initial estimate of ‘maybe twelve,’ and we got such cool feedback that we’ve been dipping in and out of it for the last few months and have finally released 1.2 (an improved version of 1.1, which itself was an improved version of the Ludam Dare Jam submission). It’s a Windows game, in case you’re wondering. Thanks for the LD people for making it happen.

All right, all right!

Okay. It’s been a while, I think, but I’m in this ludum dare!

My tools of use are:

Flixel

Graphics Gale

Gimp

Sfxr

Flashdevelop

Fruity Loops (if I have time)

A platformer, a text based, or a point in click engine (whichever is the more suitable).

And that is all folks! See you there!

(Provided, something doesn’t happen, like, a natural disaster, relatives coming over, my mother hollering for me, etc etc.)

Laters!

Hey, it’s Lithuania speaking! No, we don’t make games, we make beer, but this December WE ARE ALL OUT OF BEER.

So yeah: Java -> LWJGL -> Slick -> Nifty: only the trendiest libs will do. Also a bit of Paint.NET and sfxr. Possibly WolframTunes (sounded fun)

It’d be my first real game (I’ve been hacking roguelikes for as long as I remember myself, but meh – roguelikes), so watch me fail!
