0h Game Jam! Make a game in zero hours!
October 25th, 2011 12:01 pmSoon, on 30th of October, our clocks will shift from 02:59:59 a.m. to 02:00:00 a.m. so there’s actually 1 hour between 2:00 am and 2:00 am.
This is the best time in the year to make a game! Make a game in zero hours!
Fixed website, added submission form, FAQ, theme suggestions and all that! Go check it out!

EDIT:
I hacked together a tiny website that tracks tweets.

time zone?
Central European Time (CET). = GMT +1
So does this mean we all take part simultaneously? If so, then it’ll be held at an inconvenient time for nations in eastern europe and asia.
Or do we take part when our own country goes through DST switchover? If so then not all countries have DST switchover this weekend. Not all countries use DST at all. For those countries in the southern hemisphere which do use DST, their clocks go forward not back this time of year.
Who cares, it is silly. Make games; fuck all rules.
I’m in!
Um, my calendar shows it as November 6th.
Wonderful idea! Sounds like fun!
Not every country in the world does it on the same day or time, but the vast majority are indeed set to fall back on October 30th, 2011 in the middle of the night.

I’d love to be in, I lack the skill though, but keep this up next year yeh?
I’ll do it!
Hehe, nice idea
Awesome! sounds pretty much impossible though.
I am so in. This will make up for having to abort the October Challenge due to crunching for three weeks, topped off with a weekend ill. And the extreme timeframe will really force the focus onto design, not content.

I can’t wait to do this! There will be a theme as per usual, right?
Sounds awesome, I’m gonna participate
Would anybody mind if I do this during local dst? 4->4am but on gmt+3
I think we should just give a 24 hour slot, and trust that each person will use only one hour. Aim to use your local clock swiching hour if your country has one this weekend, but if you don’t, or that hour is too late for you, then do it whenever.
Since DST occurs on Oct 30 *or* Nov 6 (and a few never get DST time changes at all) I suppose we should just give everyone a week to post a game that we made in one hour with bonus points for doing during the exact time their clocks fall back.
Triple bonus points if you make a timelapse video with your system clock clearly visible to prove it!
That seems to be a right way to do it.

I’m in, it’s gonna be aaaawwweessome
(and tiring…)
Extra challange:
Make a game in a negative amount of time
Isn’t that the same as unmaking a game?
I had a finished game at 01:50, but at 02:10 that same day I didn’t have one.
Rules? What kind of libraries/frameworks/pre-coded stuff can we use?
Oh I’m so ridiculously in, it’s not even funny. This gamejam feels like it was made for me. Something rough, ugly, quick and dirty? That’s my entire ‘style’! Oh I’m so excited.
So yeah, will there be a theme, or do we just riff with it until we run out of zero time?
Loving the idea behind this. one hour… what a ridiculously short timespan. But will there be a set theme, or anything?
Going to be takig part in this! The whole timeshift buisness is bloody confusing though. Turns out in the UK (according to the government website and other sources) our clocks turn back *to* 1am, *at* 2am, so I’ll be starting at 1am! However, those of you in the +1 timezone, who are starting *at* 2am because of when your clocks change … we’ll be doing it at the same relative time! Isn’t timetravel fun.
How are we to submit the games?
I’m on it! Give me moer minutes!
Great, I thought that it has died. We are waiting!
I’m in. It’s incredibly challenging to make a game in zero hours, but if I fail I haven’t lost any time, right?
I’m in! This will be massive, awesome minimalistic game spam!
