Goal for 2012 – 12 one-month games

One of my goals for the year of 2012 is finishing 12 one-month games. In preparation for that I am going to come up with 36 game ideas, and pick 12 of the best and make 12 1-day games. Then I will expand them into 2-day games. When January rolls around I will expand the first game into a full one month game. I’m going to try to use stencylworks. I probably won’t be competing in the October challenge.

12 one month games sounds like an interesting idea I might attempt the same, not entirely sure if you’re using the best method though.

What part are you unsure about? The 1 day prototypes should be complete to a point without content, the 2-day prototypes should be about as polished as your average ld48 entry, one month versions should be salable.

I figure the first week will be getting the 2-day prototypes into a fully-functional playable alpha. Then I spend a week testing and debugging. The 3rd week gets full content put in, that is final graphics/sound/music (if any), and the forth will be the release week, basically I’ll put finishing touches on it for release or essentially the “polish” phase.
