    A Change of Mini-LD Plans – A Different Game

I fiddled around with BulletML this afternoon, and it turned out to be quite the hassle to parse. Not actually that fun for me to use, since there doesn’t seem to be a good BulletML library for AS3. I also came across a very, very nifty level editor that looks like it will make me very happy.

I’ve decided to use the following themes:

Theme: Alternate universe spin-off (Dragon Warrior)

Limitation: Not using one, sorry. It’s a Mini, and I don’t like these restrictions.

Rule: Use software you’ve never used before (DAME level editor (Never used at all) and Gimp (Never used in a completed game)

With a theme and a rule used twice, I think it’s a good enough use of the “Pick’n'Mix” theme.

My premise is a spinoff of Dragon Warrior set in the distant future. There are aliens about, some friendly, some monsters. The big bad is an evil robot, and the good guys are a rag-tag bunch of futuristic warriors out to Save The World.

I hope to have a substantial amount done by the end of the Mini-LD submission time. It’ll take a while, but the Mini will give me good motivation to work on it.

I may start on it tonight, which is stretching the Mini’s time line a bit.

    Peace
