Discover the name – video
I have uploaded to youtube a gameplay video, you could take a look at it if you have not tried the game yet
.
Dunno how much I will able to do before time expires… 2hs left, and I am a little bored/tired. I will take a bath and see if I can do anything more, else I will upload the entry.
Good luck to all
Sad Face
I didn’t get to finish my game, due to some unforeseen/foreseen errands I had to do. Oh well, I better start writing a game engine for the next compo, that should make it easier.
Sad face.
All done, I’m finished
Phew! It’s getting quite late and I have to say the game turned out to be more fun than I thought. It doesn’t follow the theme strictly, but it reveals more levels as you progress so I guess it’s discovery
The game is about an alien therapist killing traumas in patients heads, synced with some music ofcourse.
It’s only for Windows at the moment, I’ll try to port it to other platforms as well in the future.
Now some schoolwork, sigh…
Sorted!
That’s it! Entry posted! I feel so proud, my first LD entry…
The demo is posted, the source made available and the details detailed!
Check out http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-19/?action=preview&uid=3386 for all the info.
Now, to bed.
Over and out.
Switching to Jam
I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted to . There is no way have something playable by the end of the compo, so I’m taking the extra day and I’ll put something together for the jam deadline.
Finished – YAY
Here you are, gentlemen! I didn’t add music because I wasn’t sure what I intended was OK rule-wise, but SFXR made some neat sounds for it anyway.
Start playing here!
Truth to be told, my game follows the theme very VERY little, but I had fun!
The Goliath Lab

This is going to be a jam entry, so I get an extra day
Anyway, it probably won’t be available except on the App Store, unless I get all wild and decide to make a win32 build or something.

Volatile: AI Build Patterns
Complete
Since I agreed not to call it probe, I named it after the only other character: Mothership!
Play my game and let me know what you think! I am so tired and hungry though, I’m not sure which I’m going to do first =]

An early retire, but a good start.
As a first timer in LD, wish I was better prepared. I’ve done mini games in the past that have taken less than a day to complete, but I think my expectations for this competition were to high. Although it was a good experience for me and I think at least I have the beginnings of what can become a good game. I’ll probably will stick around for other LDs. Good luck to all the entries!
Done
And I’m done!

The idea was that the player would have to discover attack combos to get a better score, however I didn’t have enough time to animate enough attacks to warrant this. So the thematic portion relies on the story more now.
Controls are A, S and D for attacks. See how high of a score you can get!

A Tiny Bit of My Jam Game
Spelling Warrior Done!
Yes, it’s here, and it’s terrible! Terribly awesome
Can’t wait to start playing the entries, and it’s been a great time hanging out with you guys in the IRC channel. This is my first year, and I can safely say I will return!

Complete, 2 hours, 43 minutes, 17 seconds remaining!
Everything I can think of is as finished as I can make it. Worried the machine was crashing in the last few minutes, but it just about worked.
My main priority after this is sleeping!

Source is in my submission.
I’m going to make it!
Well, this is turning out to be somewhat of an art game, but I think that it’s going to be a good discovery game nonetheless. All I have left is the last level, a title screen , and then… umm…
I’ve been considering adding enemies. Then, once you beat the game you could re-play with a more powerful character.
Done!
And so ends my first contest, I didn’t learn much about coding or art but I did learn a ton about myself. I’ve learned that (a) perfectionism gets me nowhere (b) that the best ideas come during production not before it and (d) it’s ok to make mistakes as chances are people aren’t watching or they’re not going to notice anyway.
I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to the few friends I have left, to thank ChevyRay for his awesome FlashPunk library, and for this community for holding the event and voting on an actual interesting theme. I hope I did the theme justice in some small way (be thankful I abandoned my “disc” + “ovary” idea) and look forward to being blown out of the water by all of you!
Play DISCovery online now…if you dare…
I did it!
My entry has been submitted!
It’s called: Fat guy’s treasure hunt.
You have to ‘discover’ all the treasures hidden in the maze. But beware, the walls move.
You don’t want to get yourself trapped. So pick up a dynamite and blow those walls away!
Getting hungry? Eat an apple. If you don’t eat you die and you lose.
This was my first time in the Ludum dare and I’ll definitely enter again the next time.
My sourcecode sucks but I’ll learn from it and do it better next time.
Sleep time now…
