This was day 1

The last few hours have been tough but I managed to get it done. I’ll post a timelapse and post mortem after I’ve recovered in a day or two. ;)

Ping! Wooosh! Kapooow!

It’s almost 1am and I’m knackered, got my game finished, could have finished it much sooner if I hadn’t messed around, but I’ve work tomorrow so I’m gonna scamper off.

Best of luck to those that are putting their final bits together.

I call it Apple Quest II:

Time is almost up

And Case Closed is almost done! This is going to be a pretty last-minute upload.

Strange Lands… is done!

Posted by
Sunday, December 19th, 2010 5:54 pm

My entry for Ludum Dare 19, Strange Lands, is complete! Here’s a hint: in the game, the land is strange.

I knew you would guess it. It’s a turn-based strategy game, but the twist is that the player has no idea where the enemy is, and is clueless about the layout of the landscape. That’s where the discovery comes in. The levels are automatically generated, and the player competes against an AI opponent.

Happy Ludum Dare everybody, I look forward to playing all the games!

Hi all,

My submission is already up. While I have managed to implement most of the things I wanted, I wish there was time to polish it much further.

This was my first LD and I have learned a great deal. Even more important than that, I have had much fun building this game. I think I should do this more often, even if not in an “official” competition.

Wish you all the very best, and as usual you can check out the game here, and you can check the submission page here .

See you around!

Done!

Woo that was grueling!
I didn’t manage to get as many features as i would have liked in there, but i’ve managed to submit in time!

You can view my entry HERE

I hope you like it, have fun!

Land Ho Finished!

Posted by
Sunday, December 19th, 2010 5:45 pm

Well I got Land Ho finished up and submitted. Unfortunately, I had to stick with the MEGA wav file for the song, as I couldn’t get the mp3 playing working, and just said screw it since I was tired of working on that. http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-19/?action=preview&uid=466 If you don’t want to download a 44MB zip file (YIKES!!!), be sure to click on the NO MUSIC version!

Finished

And so I’ve ended  my first Ludum Dare , which is my first contest and with this also my first game ever , i am actually really new to the  world of making games , I did learn a lot and i mean a LOT ! Was it about coding or arts, i learned a lot and the best thing is that i’ve enjoyed every minute of it . I didn’t expect that it will be this fun.I’ll definitely enter again the next time and i don’t care if my game sucks , i learned a lot from it and that what’s matter to me .

There’s no way for me to finish this today, but that’s okay. Considering I started this today and achieved many of the things I set out to do, I feel okay about it. I still intend to enter it for the jam tomorrow. :)

I wanted there to be movement and explosions but oh well.

The Detectorizer

Posted by
Sunday, December 19th, 2010 5:31 pm

Well I’ve submitted it so I suppose it’s finished. Sadly I ran out of time for a lot of the niceties I’d have liked to have added but it is playable. Although it is intentionally a bit evil so play with caution.  You need sound to hear the metal detector.  Have a go, see what ‘exciting’ things you can discover.

ancient codes

i have created a game which was intended to be somewhat thematic, but has turned into something that is only tangentially thematic.

hope you enjoy it regardless.

Dropping from the compo

Posted by
Sunday, December 19th, 2010 5:30 pm

If I were to wrap stuff up and upload something before the deadline it probably would be a very crappy game…

So I’m switching to the jam!

For some reason it’s the buttons and dialog boxes that took up the most of my time so far, I probably should have used a library…

Not going to finish what I wanted; but I will enter what I have

Posted by

Ill enter basically one level; I was so close : /

BTW — At what time exactly does the compo actually end? The ticker on my computer is way off for some odd reason.

IT’S “DONE”

Posted by

Well here it is, guys. It’s my LD19 entry. I basically just gave up and released it as is BUT AT LEAST IT’S RELEASED. No known major bugs.

Playing all the games

So I started going through everyone’s submissions and I’m feeling really lame about mine. You guys are pretty freaking creative and artistic. Well done! Keep them coming!

WARNING: Bug in submit system

Posted by
Sunday, December 19th, 2010 5:14 pm

Warning, if you for some reason enter this link on your browser:

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-19/?action=save

It will clear your entry information! I’ve lost mine, so beware!
I’m guessing it has to do with not having any data in the GET or POST headers. But it’s a nasty bug that should be taken care of.

I hope it helps.

There are many enemies

Our work on our Jam entry continues. There are many enemy airships present, and some clouds.  Game is looking decent and is fun to play, but way too hard.
