Scrolling Maps? UNPOSSIBLE!
No, wait, it’s true! You just can’t see it in a screenshot:
I can move the old man around the map, and while he flickers, it works. I’m pretty close to adding real game play at this point. Like, a reason for him to move around. Although I need to figure out how to stop him from moving across water and through walls and stuff. Without tiles (the map is one large image!), I am going to try to create a second large map that is just black and white, and then I’ll use color detection to find out if the old man collided with something. Oh, dear. This is getting complicated.
