Final Round Theme voting has begun! You have roughly 48 hours to pick, change, and convince others to also vote for your favorite theme. The final theme will be announced when the clock on ludumdare.com/compo hits zero. Prior results here. Go Vote!!

I absolutely love you for giving Pretentious Art Game another chance.
Haha, Pretentious Art Game…that’s amusing. It’ll be even more amusing when it’s crushed in the voting.
But, uh…”-5 or higher”? That was the cutoff? There must have been a LOT of negative voting. The average score must have been lower than -5, right? So, on average people voted AGAINST a lot more stuff than they voted FOR…
Yes, there didn’t seem to be enough themes with positive scores, so I decided to be inclusive of some negatives too. -5 and higher gave us a good selection of 19 themes, and with our customary “joke theme”, rounded it out to 20.
But of course, the Joke theme is “no joke”, see the motivation poster.
If the end theme is evolution, someone WILL pay.
I’ll also admit to voting down a lot more than I voted for, but that’s the way it works. Don’t like a theme, kill it. Like a theme, vote for it. Don’t really care, but don’t hate a theme, +0. I guess I didn’t like a lot of themes. When you have a list of 20, it’s hard to like all of them

Doesn’t all the negative voting imply that most of us will be unhappy with the results? Maybe there is a better way to pick a theme…

+1 for P.A.G., Dreams, Islands, and Forest. 0 for Continuous Motion and Evolution.
Continuous Motion is intriguing, +1′d that because i thought it would have some interesting results, i wouldn’t be too disappointed if Evolution was chosen either.
From the other comments it doesn’t sound like Flood is very likely, but personally I’d be very happy with it. I think it meets sf17k’s three criteria very well, and I’ve already got a fun idea for the game I would make. I +1d some others that I also liked well enough, but Flood is my real favorite.

Weird – I plus-voted 9 of the theme ideas. Usually they end up roughly equal – 1/3rd get a plus, 1/3rd get a +0, and 1/3rd make me click the “Kill It” button.
+1 P.A.G. But whatever wins I’ll be happy. Consider it a challenge to turn a theme you don’t like into a theme you do like.
Wow. That’s a great perspective, and I would love to achieve a game I like no matter the theme.
For the next competition, I think we should have some sort of nomination system so that some themes won’t get cut before voting no matter what.
I think there should be some randomness in the choice of the final theme.
Has LD17 already started? The countdown says…
“LD 17 will start in: 20 minutes ago” and is counting UP, instead of down…but the theme hasn’t been posted yet…
