I’d like to see some social media sharing buttons on submission pages, so that after you’ve played/judged a game that you particularly liked, you can spread the word about it on fb/twitter/reddit/etc.

There’s something wrong with the comment box (for me at least) on some game pages: it’s always the same games and it’s on Windows Explorer and Chrome.
I’m logged in (always, and my username and password are remembered by the browser) and view pages of games then click on a specific game (like http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/minild-37/?action=preview&uid=14669) and I get the message, that I have to be logged in to comment.
I can’t log in and clicking that link brings me to the wordpress dashboard. I have seen other people leave feedback of the same kind, so I don’t think I’m the only one.

Suggestion:

A checkbox for music/sound when uploading your game.

If the checkbox is OFF, the game does not have any sound or music, and when voting, the person voting is forced to keep the music vote on N/A.

I second the one about allowing users to filter games by system. Reading through the suggestions I found a couple of requests which may be summarized to “include a filter for the OS that can run this game”. Maybe just create mandatory tags like “Windows”, “Linux”, “Java” “Web/Java” “Web/Flash” and leave the filtering to WordPress?

MY OLD RECIENT QUOTE MADE OR REALIZED…: I need know how to see the game realized just when the time pass with the game realized… i made a complete super smash bros. Crusade online and a playable mario power tennis where you can play with curiose characters like Jimmy T., Dr. Mario, R.O.B., for example inside of the original playables, but playing vs with the original from the game else, was my idea… and with a vote that i remember if it have one in pc… please help to found my games, i dont played not one, zero abolutly of this creations, or i making something wrong… i used pidgin in #ld48 room… is deceptionant that ME DONT HAVE THAT THE CAPACITY OF SEE THE GAME REALIZED just WHEN IS MADE… or is not?

SUGGESTION: Make a tutorial video showing so fine and the letters else of how to create a game in 48 minutes (in pidgin else in this case, or if i need another application would be fine) and how to play it in so easy form… try to be coherent, or understandble for people, becuse this video may be the “FUTURE”-TURE-TURE!!… and you are agree to make it, for realize almost the idea of do it, if anyone is making games, and me else, but i cant play it and nothing guy can, when may be pretty cool games, sometimes i dont exige so much, think it, and make my wish comes true, man.. thanks!!.. thanks a lot..

The Conspirator suffered from a long running time and a really depressing topic. It could have done with a tighter link wheel script. James McAvoy brilliant as always. I prefer stories about peripheral figures during the Civil War, e.g. An Acquaintance with Darkness and Lincoln’s Dreams. Great books, get a copy!

Just a minor suggestion, but maybe we could incorporate some newgrounds rating style into Ludum Dare. By this I mean that people playing your game would only be able to rate it if they clicked the link to open the game. This will prevent trolls and generally stupid people from going around rating ones on everything. I know this might not be that big of a problem now, but at the rate Ludum Dare is growing, it might become a problem later.

The main issue I encountered was wasting time on games I could not play..
There should be a screen where you can set the categories you can actually play.
This will filter out all the games that you cannot play.

Examples:
Game requirements:
Specific OS(Windows, Linux, Mac)
Specific Framework
Specific browser
Other specific download..

That way I can set: Windows/Linus + Flash, Unity, Java & XNA.. and filter the rest.
This does not include games that include a small simple additional download.

Some people don’t want to install a specific tool to play games
