Glacier Final

Sorry it’s about 20 minutes late, I had a last minute problem with my release build. It’s still really incomplete, so it’s not like I’m going to win anything anyways.

Here it is.. in all it’s horrible incompleteness.

Glacier Final

The idea is to save the mammoths from the oncoming glacier by placing ice blocks (tetris pieces) ..

i’ll put up a post-compo version with docs and stuff later.. phew… dinner time

This application has failed to start because DevIL.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

    OK

Downloaded devIL, then was missing sdl.dll. Downloaded that. Title screen’s all weird (upside-down, some gibberish) but the game itself looks cool!

Ok, I updated the download with the missing .DLLs, otherwise identical. Sorry about that.

The weird titlescreen/gibberish is probably because I’m using a pretty old version of DevIL, hopefully this fixes it.

Also, note that the edge of the playfield isn’t drawn. So if it won’t let you place a piece that looks clear, that’s probably why. For example, the L piece in the screenshot is off the edge of the playfield.

There’s currently no check for winning or losing. Just go as far as you can without all the mammoths dying.

    Keys:
    right mouse to rotate tetromino
    left mouse to place
F5 – Toggle “dbg” display (shows tiles directly, useful)
F8 – Go into level editor

    In editor:
    s – save map (to levels/_editor.txt)
    z – zoom in/out
    arrows change height, position
    draw land masses with mouse
    backspace – delete last landmass
