Haven't had a chance to play yet, but I like the screenshot ... reminds me of the art style of Another World / Out of this World. (color palette suggests you are taking tips from jovoc's recent article ? :) ). Looking forward to firing it up when I get home.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, if I had more time, there would have been a scoring system, and you'd get bonus points for those cascades.

The baby fish should have been following you up and down much more loosely, so if you move around too fast, it takes a bit to catch up, meaning you're leaving the baby in danger.

Regarding the recharge delay, I've had one person tell me that she didn't like it, even after I tried to explain why it was made that way. I guess getting lots of feedback on it might help.

I do hope I can flesh Guardian Fish into a full game. I'm not entirely happy with it, but my gosh, Friday this game didn't exist!

There are some cool style elements in here I dig! I like the attack mechanic.. both how it is animated and how it provides a 'recharge delay' that is very tangible and not like an artificial recharge meter. I feel like a lot could be done still with the baby fish that is behind you but doesn't really factor into the gameplay yet. I understand deadline constraints, so just saying in the case you work on it more! ;)

Oh yeah, extra points for cascading dead fish effect!!!
