I get a runtime error as soon as I try to run it.
Windows XP SP2, extracted to H:\Roadate\

I just tried on a separate PC with Windows XP SP3 – no problems. I get some messages from Python in the console window but the game runs.

Do you have a description of the error?
What exactly happens when you start “Roadate.exe”?
Do you have Python and/or Blender installed? (This is not a prerequisite, but maybe there are some side-effects if you have a differnt version)
Do you run it in some kind of virtual machine?

As a workaround, you could install Python 2.5.2 and Blender 2.48a and open the source file. Of course this is not the preferred solution.

    Anybody else having any problems?

No python nor blender here. I just get a runtime error:
“The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application”

    Hi

Option A. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package.

“If you have troubles running Blender on Windows, receiving an error message like”The Application failed to initialize properly ( 0xc0150002 )” while trying to starting Blender, then download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86).”

Option B. Run Windows Update. This would be a great idea for security reasons as well.

Both options should solve your problem.
