The Facebook Delimma
Well I have had 5 comments now that said that they either don’t have a Facebook account, or that they don’t want to install extra apps. This is a bit of a bummer (and I knew beforhand that I was taking a risk by choosing this path), but if I could plead with you, it is easy (and free) to create a Facebook account to play the game — Heck, you don’t even ever have to use anymore after that. You can also remove the app after adding it and playing it.
I go through the trouble of dual booting back into Windows and installing various versions of different libraries to try other people’s apps, could you please at least exert just a little effort to try my app? Thanks.

One idea would be to post a gameplay youtube if it was readable.. enough to judge by maybe. ?
i have a facebook app, and i didn’t mind adding the app, but all i got was a grey question mark, so i couldn’t play it anyway.. is a pity since I quite like MUDs and all.
triorph: The grey question mark is where the icon and description normally go when you add the app to the Facebook directory listing (which I didn’t want to do yet). You should still get the add this application button to the right, and everything should work as normal.
I have a facebook account, but I totally understand anyone who doesn’t want to make one. From what I hear, it’s virtually impossible to get rid of one once you’ve made it, and they hang on to your personal info for the rest of eternity. I regret having made mine, but it’s done now! I don’t use it at all, ever. I will of course try out your game, though!
I did click the “add this application” button, then i go to my applications and select it and it jsut takes me back to the grey question mark (which is giant btw, not just like some small description)
The other issue is that facebook shares your personal information with your friends’ applications, not just your own. You can turn this off (privacy -> applications -> other applications), but ONLY if you remove ALL facebook platform applications from your profile. It seems to me this is a completely arbitrary restriction to discourage people from protecting their information, and it’s a pity that it stops people (such as me) from using completely reasonable applications.
Of course, I’ll probably just make a false account to test the game out.
