I’m a complete novice, but so minimal should be my specialty if it’s not too late to throw my hat into the ring  I want to make an rpg, but that’s probably more than I can achieve in the time given since this needs to be a complete game (I imagine that means at least complete level).  So I’m going to make a basic platformer and hope my near complete lack of artistic ability and musical talent doesn’t hobble it too badly. I’m developing on an iMac using Ruby and the Gosu ( http://code.google.com/p/gosu/) development library.
