Not got enough free time this weekend to actually compete in LD11, but I'll be using it as an opportunity to get back up to speed with C++ after a break of nearly 10 years developing in Delphi, VBA, Python and FreeBASIC. If I were you I'd dive on in and get up to speed with the rather wonderful Pyglet. I tend to use this sort of competition as a way to either learn new APIs, or refresh my knowledge.
